I've come to the point where I almost enjoy these kinds of movies from Europe more than I do the ones from the U.S., mainly because they are so much more blunt, and to use an overly used word, very visceral as well. All the deals go bad, and though the ending is a more positive one than I had imagined, it all comes together very well.
Performance wise, Antonio Resines is the high point of basically all very good performances throughout, and the subject matter though familiar does enough fresh stuff to pull ahead of the more generic thrillers out there. Enrique Urbizu does a great job with his own script, pulling no punches throughout the entire film, and the cinematography is very good, ending with a last shot straight out of Requiem For a Dream. Interesting how far influences go. Definitely recommended.
