Amazing. Love it.

Edgar Wright, goes without saying that his scripts are brilliant.

Joe Cornish is really funny as well. If anyone isn't familiar, Youtube some of The Adam and Joe show, an excellent TV series. Also, he did that Quantum of Solace.

Really brilliant.

Elmaleh is a funny guy. Not to mention the others whom we all know.

Unless I'm forgetting something, there's been nothing but good news in regards to this movie.

Really great article title, i was brimming with anticipation as the page loaded.

And it was a whopper of an update. I for one was ready to see whatever Spielberg and Jackson would come up with, but I feel like this announcement is going to generate a lot of geek buzz.

Interesting. The cast sure is terrific.
And Wright behind the scenes can only mean good news.
Still not interested, but much closer then before.

Jamie Bell's character was one of my least favorite parts of KONG, but that's more to do with editing than anything else I'm sure. Since the Venture "Heart of Darkness" storyline just added one more thing between me and Skull Island and his character was kinda inconsequential anyway after the return to NYC.

I barely remember BILLY ELLIOT.

Edgar Wright's nearly flawless record is a nice addition.

So what's the official word on what kind of look they're going for in terms of mo-capped CG characters? I hear about how it's gonna be photo-real, but at the same time I hear about how they want to stay true to the artwork of the comics.
I was already fairly interested, but this is certainly more promising than it was.
With all these people, how can one not be excited?
Interest piqued.
Nope...still not interested.
Sorry...just can't muster even a little bit of interest in this film, even with all of the great talent involved.

Why are you apologizing? I think Spielberg & co will probably get over it.

Seconded.

I seriously cannot muster enthusiasm for anything TinTin. Joe Cornish is a great writer and very funny, so that's good news for the production, but the character does nothing for me.

If I catch a trailer, way off in the future, it might well pique my interest but for now...*shrug*

I love this news like I love love.

Are they down to just making two movies now, and not the originally announced three? I feel like I missed an update someplace.

As reported here they are doing likely two movies now. Unless that has changed again.

On topic, this is obviously another level of great talent added. Nothing to complain, rather to praise with these decisions.
But I am curious how this will apparently pique interest despite Spielberg and Jackson. Wright surely seems to be the current hot guy right now. Not that there is anything wrong with that mind you.

Were people expecting Koepp to be pulled outta The Beard's back pocket? After what happened to the KOTCS script, I hope not.

Though I would not have put that behind Spielberg I rather think that it is telling how Wright is seen as a great addition not to but rather despite this Spielberg/Jackson collaboration. Though talking in broad strokes here that was the essence I captured from the reactions to the Tintin advocate. Rather telling about the current values of these three guys among geeks.

Because I WANT to like this movie...I want to look forward to this film.
I...just...can't...
Hmm... yep, that'll officially do it. Consider me quite interested until further notice.
Jamie Bell is good enuf for me. I'm in.
As one of those who started grinning the second he heard "TinTin", this is like a perfect storm of amazing. And continue to color me confused that people shrug when all of these talented names are listed on the same movie. It's like you all actively dislike cinema.
All right. This pretty much twisted my arm. I'm officially getting interested in this. I still think it will do A.I. money at best in the U.S., but I'm now definitely looking forward to this.
Didn't they say that one movie was going to be the Unicorn/Rackham story and the other was going to be The Seven Crystal Balls/Prisoners of the Sun? Makes sense, I don't think Unicorn has enough material on its own to support a full movie.
The announcement of Craig/Bell didn't particularly excite me but reading that article i suddenly had an overwhelming sense of pride for the Spaced boys and Cornish.Joe with the beard?will wonders never cease!
I'm surprised at how many people are actively not interested in this movie. It seems hard to do based on the names that are lined up.

I wonder how hard they'll try to keep it up as this continues to sound better and better.
I'm looking forward to giving it a shot. Good adventure movies are hard to come by.

That is a lot of talent.. and it's not like George Lucas is anywhere near it.
The level of talent this project is attracting is intriguing but I wouldn't say I'm interested in seeing Tin Tin yet. Not until I see a trailer anyway.. Maybe then I'll see what the big deal is. Until then, this project has my attention.
Cautiously interested.

This could still turn out to be a mess.
With this awesome cast, I hope the mo-cap has progressed somewhat so that we can get less of that dead-eye. Otherwise, I'll be wishing this was shot live-action instead.
Dead Eye? If they'll attempt to stay even a bit true to the artwork the eyes will consist of two black dots.

If they go Beowulf on me and simply make a live action feature coated in a wax layer of CGI, I'll go nuts!

I like to think Spielberg read that comment and a solitary tear rolled down his cheek.
Color me confused.

Didn't they originally cast some other small child in the role of TinTin? Isn't Jamie Bell kind of old? They're doing two movies now?

I have obviously not been paying attention, and I LIKE TinTin.

I completely agree. But moreover... since when does Daniel Craig being attached in a movie mean that I'm automatically going to care? I don't remember anyone suddenly getting interested in "The Invasion" or "The Golden Compass" or even this month's "Defiance." Those movies were/are being ignored, and rather rightly so. People like him as Bond, and don't care much about him outside of that.
The general populace's ladyfolk appreciate Daniel Craig. I'm pretty sure that's what is meant by "mass appeal".

I'm thinking Wright's involvement is the one the geeks are supposed to appreciate.
Now they're just showing off. There is a ridiculous amount of talented people working on this.

Thomas Sangster was originally cast in the role but had to drop out due to scheduling reasons or whatever. Bell's 22 which feels about right for the character.

Agreed. The Pod People Eye and the wierd rubber like faces are what ruined Beowulf and Polar Express for me.
You can get away with MoCap CGI for non or semi human characters (Gollum in LOTR) but for humans I have yet to see it work .
