People are asking if this is in breach of her contract with Fox. Either it isn't or she doesn't care.

"Don't shoot a cow, man!"

Really creepy how she switches voices. I could imagine her doing that in person while the video played.

I guess that answers that question.

Non-YouTube version here;

Hopefully they won't go after the person who posted it to the internet in the first place ...

I'm generally not one to encourage studios to pursue action against artists. However, in this case, it could lead both to legal action against the Church of Scientology, and the death of the still-dancing corpse of The Simpsons. So I'm all for it. Go Fox.

Once Fox's legal teams are done with her, Cartwright will probably wish she never gave $10 million (two times her annual salary) to the COS in 2007 alone.
10 million given in a year? Jesus...
No, not Jesus. L. Ron. Common mistake.

That wasn't nearly as cool as the Spongebob actors redubbing the classic films at the Annies. In fact that was a little sad, Cartwright.

It's hard to tell who this is the lowest point for; The Simpsons or Scientologists.

Ditto. The only good thing about that video was the Photoshopped pics of Bart while the message played.
So, are we all in agreement at this point that Scientology is actually a secret celebrity club and all these people are sitting in some mansion giggling and drinking champagne as we freak out at them?

I have no other way to explain how so many people I thought were cool are turning out to have the intelligence of a monkey with fetal alcohol syndrome. It has to be some scam or conspiracy, it has to be!
Oh, how I wish that were true. I'd love to have Tom Cruise come on a talk show one day laughing his ass off and say "Boy are you people gullible!". He'd be the new Andy Kaufman at that point.

How does this not get you fired? She's doesn't own the character. And it's not like there's no one else in the world who can do a Bart Simpson voice.
Actually, I've never heard anyone do a good Bart voice. Perhaps you can point me in the right direction?
It's not as if shows haven't survived replacing voice actors before. Even if it weren't an exact match, anybody who's still watching that train wreck is going to keep watching. At this point, only nuclear war is going to stop them.
They're not going to fire her. Plus, they obviously don't think she's very replaceable. If they did, they wouldn't pay her enough to be able to donate 10 million dollars to Scientology.

Ahem.

"Eat my shorts!"

How was that? It sounded good to me.

Fare the well, Ms. Cartwright...

Exactly. You can't fire someone for sounding like Bart Simpson. I mean, I suppose you could try, but I'm sure it's cheaper to just let it blow over.
Any woman who can sound convincingly like a 10 year old boy is easy pickin's for Scientology.
Says in best Orlando Bloom voice, "L. Ron Hubbard has taught me much about religion!"

Actually, that'd be interesting. I wonder which set of lawyers are more powerful? Scientology always has that "religion" tag on their side though.
Actually, what's been working like gangbusters for Scientology's lawyers isn't the religion card at all, since they aren't recognized as one. They've left the persecuted religion bullshit to the PR people and very smartly gone for the intellectual property tactic. Nobody's allowed to publish tell-all books about the "church" because the "church" owns the terminology and ideas.

None of which would apply to this, of course. I think Fox could really clean up if they sued over this. They own Bart, and Scientology used him for promotional purposes. QED.

Overlord's a lawyer. Get him in here.
I guarantee there are higher ups at Fox who have the right to sue who are scientologists themselves. It'll never happen.
I don't think corporate types are Scientologists, they're too smart.

Oh damn! Next thing you know, they'll be banned from the AICN talkbacks. And then it's on.
