PBS's What's So Funny?

This is the comedy equivalent to the Broadway special that they did a few years back. Meaning that it's okay, but nowhere near the comprehensive look that the subject deserves -- which is saying something, because it's six hours long. It's focused on the 20th century for the most part, and I think this comes out of the stand-up history Ken Burns wanted to do. I would have much rather they focused on stand-up rather than try to look at comedy in movies, tv, etc. Or if you're going to talk about tv/movies, discuss how those were important in relation to stand-up.

Also, the DVD is oddly bleeped in some parts.

It's worth watching because of the people they interview and the stories told, but overall, a disappoinment.

I watched one installment of it and concluded the same. It might of helped to have formatted it differently, they were obviously reaching too far per hour segment.

It wasn't bad, but they could have done a six-hour series on any of the topics they touched on.
