Picked up the special edition of this today and just got done watching it. It was pretty damn cool. A mix of comedy and gore just like Dead Alive or RoTLD. Not as gory as Dead Alive but it's still pretty damn gory. All in all it was a pretty good movie, fun for the whole family.

A grand and epic look at few outsiders surviving the self-destruction of a corrupt and unstable culture. This film is worth studying.

This film boasts an incredible story and a very impressive soundtrack. Trainspotting includes graphic scenes of drug use, sex and death. One of the finest films to come from Scotland, this movie...

It's rough around the edges, but it's up there with El Mariachi and Evil Dead as a cheap-ass classic that unleashed a startling talent. The whole film was made in his spare time, whenever he could afford to do some more, so it took Jackson and his friends about two or three years to actually film everything - as well as playing all the roles themselves.
I haven't watched it in ages, but the fact that a guy from New Zealand could go from making lo-fi splatter like this to directing the biggest movie franchise of all time, well, it means that there's hope for everybody. Ditto for Sam Raimi's career from Evil Dead to Spider-Man. I just love the fact that two of the biggest movies of all time were both directed by "our guys", and they didn't even need to sell-out the personal style that made them great.
