I will buy something from each of the first ten Chewers to list a few items for sale on Glyde.com. I really want everyone to try it out for themselves and see how easy it is. So, if you have a few DVDs or books or CDs or even video games lying around collecting dust, why not see if you can turn them into a little cash, especially since it takes less than 10 seconds to list something for sale. Below is some more information or just sign up on Glyde.com using the code "CHUD".

I built this site with some friends of mine. We looked around our houses and apartments and saw that we had a ton of DVDs, books, video games, and CDs that we didn't want any more. They're all worth at least some money, but our only options for turning them into cash were trading them in for mere peanuts at the local music/game/video store, donating them somewhere, or dealing with hassle of setting up an online auction. Each are fine in their own right, but not without considerable effort. We felt there had to be a better way, so we decided to create our own. We call it Glyde.com.
On a high level, it's an e-commerce site that makes selling things you own easier than it ever has been before. We also built it to make buying stuff super quick, efficient, and streamlined. Finally, for collectors, we built a really slick and beautiful way to organize and show off what they own.
If you've ever sold anything online, you probably spent a good amount of time listing it, describing it, pricing it, and maybe even taking a pictures of it. And then when it sells, you have to go to the store to buy packaging for it and then drive down to the post office to weigh it and get postage. Now imagine listing a DVD for sale in less than 10 seconds, start to finish. And imagine that when it sells, all the packaging and postage you'll need to ship it is sent to you and all you have to do is slip the DVD inside an envelope and drop it in the mail. It even comes pre-addressed to the buyer. That's Glyde. Super easy. We even gone as far as providing a suggested resale price. It's free to list and there's only a small fee incurred when your item sells. We don't think it's fair to make money unless you do.
Buying is a snap too. If you see something you like, just click Buy Now and you're done. No adding to cart, no checking out, no cumbersome payment process. Just easy.
We've also found the people really love to organize and show off their collection of stuff, especially books and DVDs, so we built really cool cataloging and showcasing features. Here is how mine looks: http://glyde.com/collections/stanton. Even cooler, people can buy directly from your collections page. It's like your own personal storefront if you want to get rid of a few things.
So, we're still in our 'private alpha' phase and we're looking for people to give it a whirl. Go to Glyde.com and use the code 'CHUD'. You can check it our more from there. Then feel free to email me directly at moose@glyde.com.
Thanks!
