You might get more trading in through Amazon. But, it won't be as convenient.

I think you should just abandon the Wii entirely because I've heard that the system basically consists of gimmickry shit, lame ports, and kiddie offerings. But, as a non-Wii owner myself, I admit that intertron scuttlebutt may be off base.

Yeah, i called the dude at Gamestop and he said it's a pretty good deal. Unfortunately, I can't reserve a copy for in-store pick up the day before so I'll just have to cross my fingers.

I just placed my order. I wasn't planning on picking this up tomorrow but the $20 pre-order bonus from Amazon made it impossible not to. I get it tomorrow, too, since I'm a Prime member. I guess Mass Effect 2 (and all those others) will continue to sit unplayed on my shelf.

I'm looking forward to some Xbox Live adventures. As Spike mentioned somewhere above, the Chewer v. Juggalo battle in GTA4 was legendary. If anything half that awesome happens, it'll make that annual fee totally worth it.

They ask for a piece of id, flip the discs to make sure they aren't beat to all hell, scan the case, you sign the reciept and enjoy the savings. Couldn't be much easier. I used to hold on to games forever, but these days I try and flip them for 30-40 bucks towards something new rather than hang on to them as they drop in value every day under the presumption "I'll want to play this again some day!"

Some day doesn't come around often.. and by the time it does you can pick the game up again used for a fraction of the trade value you got for it.

The Gamestop I pre-ordered at cancelled their midnight opening, hours before they closed.

Went to the one store that was open, and they refused to transfer my pre-order, something I've always been able to do. Relatively new policy, apparently. Asked if I could just pay now, cancel the pre-order in the morning, get my trade-in money back, and that was a no go.

Meanwhile, the guy who went after me had a pre-order at a mall store a minute away that cancelled their midnight opening as well, and he was told he basically had to have the store he reserved at confirm his pre-orders and get them sent to the brand new store that just opened that is apparently some sort of dedicated midnight opening from then on.

Stay fucking classy, Gamestop.

I fucking hate shopping Gamestop. (Yes that is where I pre-ordered, due to a few games that I wanted to trade in) I'm tired of going in, and being annoyed about buying their damn gamer card. I guy 3 games TOPS per year...waste of money for me.

The part that pissed me off most is that while I couldn't get my pre-order moved to a new store so I could get my game and be on my merry, if I had any desire to buy, say, Halo Reach or Alpha Protocol or Lord fucking forbid, Gears of War 3, the colossal fuckstick behind the counter has the ability to do that with a few keystrokes.

Logged about 2 hours and holy shit is this game amazing. I got into a Random posse and we took out a house full of bandits. After we killed them we had to defend the house Alamo style from about 100 of the bandit's pissed off friends. It was one of the most epic things I have done in a video game EVER.

Yeah, the midnight opening I went to denied someone there with a pre-order from another store as well.

(By the way, no more midnight openings for me. Even though I was awake and the store is half a block away, it was such a sad gathering of ne'er-do-wells. Paying rent just didn't make me feel any better about myself being there. But I *did* get the RDR deck of cards!)

Anyway I popped it in for about a half hour "before" work today. The game is gorgeous. The models are fine but the lighting and environment is just incredible. Way ahead of GTA4, and it doesn't seem to have that dither-y blurriness either.

Gamestop has never been able to transfer pre-order credits, and they can't refund your trade-in credit because they gave you an extra 30% on your game trades. Limitations of their POS systems.

Archaic at best.

The second point makes sense, but again, I've been to multiple stores on the East Coast that got me sorted out with either a phone call, or a note to contact the other store in the morning to get the sale/pre-order credit transferred in the morning.

Everyone always talks trash about Gamestop, but I've never had any issues with them when it came to returns or exchanges. Hell, they know my name at the one by my house.

I fell asleep last night and didn't get up in time for the midnight release, so after work, better not be in front of me.
