Anyone up for another LA Chewer gathering?

What would work for y'all? Watchmen at Arclight Sherman Oaks on Friday March 6 at 8:25?
That would work very well actually
I could have my arm twisted for that. I would imagine we'd have to buy tickets for that pretty soon.
I'm down.

So 6 attendees so far - me & Todd (remember him? We're married now!), Jake and wife, Ed, and Ratty? Anyone else interested?

I actually might have a "Plus One" with me as well. I'll see if she's interested.
Hey that's awesome. Good for you. I will be by myself as usual.

I'll buy tickets tonight. I'll presume Ratty is bringing his plus one, and if it so happens she's not interested in attending, then we'll have room for someone else. Or the ladies' purses and accoutrements.
I'll be flying solo, actually.

Anyone seen Tieman around?

Tickets bought. (5: 2 for me & Todd and one each for Ed, Ratty and Jake)

Anyone else wanting to attend let me know asap and I'll get more tickets as close to us as possible (or give you our seat numbers so you can).

Tieman is over in the Phillipines with the wife.

Bet he sticks out like a redhead in Japan.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, what? When did you get married (and belated congrats).
Well, the US has had prescence in that country for quite some time (Imperialism in action!) but you're probably right. I found it funny that a guy I know who lives in Perth and has family in the Phillipines said that filipinos speak with an American inflection.

Nono, not married. Actually the polar opposite right now, hence the flying solo.
Sorry I've been incommunicado. I was out of state at a family funeral.

Thanks for getting tickets, B. I haven't even mentioned the movie yet to my SO yet, so I can go solo for this one. What is the exact time and date?

Sorry. I had a brain fart and had Jake and Tieman confused. Damn you white people, you all look alike.

Sorry to hear it; my condolences.

It's Friday, 6 March, 8:25 pm, Arclight Sherman Oaks.
Oh shit, Sherman Oaks. I gotta figure out how to get there from SM/LaBrea - I can just take the subway north, right?

Excellent. Thank you.

You could take the subway to Universal City and take the Rapid down Ventura to Sepulveda and Ventura.

Awesome. Thank you.

Is it too late to get a second one?

I PM'd you. The row the rest of us is on is full but we can get you a pair on another row.

Anyone have meet-up preferences? Theatre? Pre-show dinner?
I've got nothing. I'm not sure about dinner unless you give ample time. Otherwise I figure it would be the Starbucks down the way.
Well, shit. Looks like I missed out on all the fun.

That's it, I'm never going anywhere ever again.

And yes, I did stick out like the proverbial red-headed stepchild in the Philippines. Partly due to my pale complexion, and partly due to the fact that I'm too damn tall for that country (the bruises on my head will attest to this fact).

We have one spare ticket.
Well, I didn't see this thread until after I already bought tix for Thursday at midnight (The Landmark by myself) and Sunday (Arclight Dome with the wife).

Three times in a weekend would definitely be too much. Thanks though. I'll catch everyone at the next gathering.
That's understandable. You can only see Dr. Manhattan's wang so many times.

Bah. Do they really show Dr. Manhattan's wang that much? This is 'puritanical America' after all, and we have the MPAA which is joyously restrictive when it comes to all things sexual.
My advice is to read the comic. You'll get an idea how prominent the wang is.
They have some cool costumes at the Arclight SO.
Okay, so what's the plan tomorrow then? Movie and then food, or fend for ourselves food-wise then do movie? I'm confused.
Well, the movie won't get out until well after 11:00 PM, so I vote for food first, then movie. I can get to Arclight by 7:00, barring any insane traffic nightmares. Any food ideas, folks?
Well, there is the joint we went to last. Which was fine but took a while.

There's the Lana Thai over on Van Nuys near Ventura and Van Nuys across the street from In & Out.

Then there's In & Out. And there's a pretty good casual italian joint in the La Rena.
The trick to going off-site from the Galleria is that parking garage may take a loooong time on a Friday night.
Very true, I figure to go off site you'd have to park and walk.

There's also a semi-descent mexican joint near Ventura and Noble. Good carnitas.

And speaking of mexican, a chipotle finally opened near Hayvenhurst.

I have read the comic, thank you very much. In the trailers, though, he's either built like a Ken-doll or has on a speedo.

As for food, I don't know if we'll get there early enough (hooray for traffic) so just let me know where you go and we'll try to join you there, depending on our arrival time. Does one of you have one of my cell phone numbers so you can text me?
Well that's the trailer, they aren't going to have full frontal nudity in a green-band trailer.

As for food, that's kind of a toss up. I'm down for meeting before but I don't know if dinner can be cordinated.
Eh. If it can't be coordinated we can all do our own thing and then meet up at the theater.
That's what I'm thinking. The area while nice doesn't have a whole lot of eating options on site. And frankly I will not go into the Cheesecake factory.
Shall we just meet at the theater at 8:00 PM then and let folks feed themselves? I'm okay with that.
I'm down for that idea.

B had a serious horse emergency to attend to this afternoon. We'll be heading out in about 15min, we have the tickets (for 8:25) and we'll meet you guys at the theater!

-B's hubby.

Noted!
I go to the Arclight SO almost every week. Hook me up with some free shit. Like all the posters on the big wall. Jerk.
I wish! they give us the fucking dregs to pick over for posters, man. There's been a stack of Inkheart posters in the break room for the last couple months, and that's it.

Not really CHUD-related, but it's worth mentioning:

I went to the LA Beerfest a month ago, which was organized by the same company and it was badass. And plus the list of pitmasters includes some of my favorite LA BBQ joints (Baby Blues!)

My arteries just clicked that link and screamed.
