Oh yes. Oh god yes.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen's classic novel to new legions of fans.

So, is Jane Austin's zombified corpse rolling over in her grave?

Aren't you guys bored of zombies yet?

I find it sad that the only way people will read classic literature is if it's bastardized by a gimmick.

I'd imagine that only folks who already know Austen would find the appeal in this anyway. I wouldn't worry though, Eric. The folks you're worried about being hijacked from the original by this are too busy gobbling up stunning testaments to literature like Twilight.

And honestly, I'm far more bored by vampires at this point...lycans an almost indistinguishably close second. Especially these endless "eternal wars" that have raged for centuries that nobody seems to have noticed much less given a shit about. Yawn!

Because fictional wars between Vampires and Werewolves dominates pop culture just as much as zombies.
