Part one is out today in Batman #686, and I can't tell you whether it's great or horrible (because I haven't figured it out yet), but I can tell you that you should read it.

I really enjoyed the ending to Catwoman's story, Alfred's was a little odd, but I loved that bit about him being the Joker.

It was an interesting story, but it really shows how poor Final Crisis was. "whatever happened to the cape crusader" is how you tell a metaphysical story.

Final Crisis was about more than that.

In regards to the Gaiman work, it's interesting where he went with it in this first installment. Love the looks at Golden Age and a little Silver Age Batman. Reminded me a lot of Brave and the Bold #200.

Plus, Kubert is growing as an artist. It's just a shame he can't keep a deadline.
