Important Things with Demetri Martin

I was really looking forward to this. The first episode had enough laughs to justify watching it, but I hope the sketch part of the show becomes stronger (although the De Beers parody was funny.)

It was ok. Not that many people could carry a show like this alone.

The De Beers didn't really justify itself until the 2nd iteration ("Wouldn't it be crazy...") started. The silouhette of the man cackling madly at the idea of the Just Do It ring was genius.

That's when it got really funny, but I thought the debt ring idea was funny too. Still, I think it was the only sketch I laughed out loud at.

It was pretty funny, it needed more Jon Benjamin though.

The sketch of one bird shitting on the other killed me.

"You've got polio of the balls."

I love Martin and while this wasn't the greatest thing in the world, I'm definitely there for next week's.

I liked what I saw but for some reason, I found the show to be a Chappelle Show clone. Almost everything is the same in the format. Aside from that, I'll watch another episode to see how it turns out.

I liked it, but I couldn't stop wondering what the show would be like with Mitch Hedberg at its helm. The distinction between Martin and Hedberg always blurs for me when Martin puts down his guitar.

I was thinking the same thing. Hedberg was funnier though. The show was decent, I'll give it a chance.

This show was awful. I'm not familiar with Martin at all, but I imagine anyone who laughed at this must have some built up good will for the guy. This was anti-humor.

Hey, it could be worse like another season of Mind of Mencia.

Damn, missed this thread.

Really really great. You have to like Martin's style, and if you do, you are in for a treat. He combines the best aspects of his Stand up routines, albums and tv specials into half hour sketch shows about important things.

Produced by John Stewart.

Only 2 episodes have aired so far and they've been terrific. I specially loved Me vs. You song. Guy way too early for a rave. Yellow belt dealing with depression and the rat disposal method teaching religion.

The set they're filiming the stand-up bits on is really preventing me from fully liking this show. Utterly terrible.

Fine by me, someone needs to be doing this shit. I really enjoyed the first episode, especially the time gigolo. Even if it was a rip off, I liked it.
The DeVeers was cool too.

I want to be laughing, because I like Demetri Martin, but it's just not happening.

I'm digging it, I really liked the one skit with Franklin, Galileo and Shakespeare and TGI Fridays.

Though the wrapping segments have too much filler, I like it. It's like someone gave Jack Handey a TV series.

Everything does.

The S&M couple was terrific. Bill Pullman!
