Survivor: Tocantins

I found the premiere to be rather boring. The big twist really had zero impact on the game. Tribe "jalapeno" has accepted that Sandy is truly crazy. I believe they fear she will kill them in their sleep if they vote against her. Plus, after 18 seasons, someone is still too stupid to just keep quiet at camp for three days. All in all, more of the same.

Any thoughts on this season?
They've already voted out the best pair of tits, so my interest is gone.
Crap didn't know this was on. Seems like it isn't worth catching online.
That show lost me two years or so back with Cook Islands - aka "Let's divide everyone by race, and try to keep a straight face when we say we're not intentionally trying to play up stereotypes!"
Why do people never learn to not blurt out their weakness right out the gate? "Hey, by the way, I have strep throat and 102 temperature, but don't vote me out, okay?"

Those nice set of tits are gone, true, but her extremely annoying voice mitigated the loss.
I did like the twist with the two who got voted out right away getting to skip the hike to the camp, and how each of them handled the situation. But yeah, I think they're all afraid Sandy will flip out one night and shank everybody.
Agreed on the best rack already gone. What a shame. I was hoping to enjoy those in HD for at least a few more episodes, especially when she started to lose that belly a bit and they REALLY stood out. Oh well.

Sandy is creepy. That is all.

I wonder if Sandy will "Hulk out" in the challenge previewed next week. The rough and tumble challenges are at least somewhat entertaining.

Amen to that.

I can't beleive people haven't learned by now to keep their mouths shut.

Not impressed at all, same old shit.

I want to see what they were blurring out during the challenge!

I'm just waiting for more stunt-casting.

"Look! It's Survivor's first blind contestant!"
Well the deaf casting still resonates with me so it works. The way Jenna treated Christy makes me angry just thinking about it.
Forgot this was one. Guess I'll have to watch this season, if only for the gay guy from Lakeland.
They have always gone for stunt casting.

We've had a hearing-impaired contestant, an amputee, a homeless dude, and even a few straight guys.

The way Christy still voted for Jenna to get the million dollars made me angrier.

Not to mention, a former porn-actor who ironically enough screwed everyone over and won his season.

Brian Heidik - best Survivor player in the entire show/game's history. Period.
Don't you all remember? Every single time the first episode sucks. Then it improves exponentially. Granted, I was surprised they voted out the huge chest and kept the gibbering swamp witch, but so it goes. There's plenty to latch onto this season. For example, who will end up being the biggest douche? The tall nerd with glasses or the survival of the fittest guy ("Coach")?
Coach already looks like the bad boyfriend character from a particularly lazy romantic comedy. He should be fun.
I love Coach. He'll never make it to the merge, though.
This is already the best show on television.

And what, exactly, does being a former pop star mean?
It's a nice way of saying "has been".
For a moment I was laughing at the idea of immediately voting people off before they even got to their camp, but alas, it was just a chopper ride. Interesting idea though, giving the exiled guys a chance to change people's perceptions of them.

Favourite people so far: JT, Coach, Jerry, and Taj: "Clean up the outdoors? Are you kidding me!?"

Best boobies are still on the show guys, they belong to the current nonentity that is Candace.

Also, squint your eyes and imagine Shane from The Shield taking part in this season.
Nope, sorry, these win.
The first several eps are always bad. There are just too many people to keep track of. Coach will infinitely entertaining. His giant ego is setting him up for a colossal blindside. I think the army guy and the cattle hand will be silent, but deadly. I'm also digging the naked Mormon guy, who I'm assuming is gay. Every Mormon guy they've had on this show has been gay. Plus he wants to buy a tiara if he wins the mil. Crazy Sandy is already tiring to watch. I hope the show doesn't focus on her too much longer.
So, I guess they really hate boobs this season.
I'm guessing the ladies wear something a little more sensible to the next challenge. There was so much blurring during that game I thought I was getting glaucoma.
Coach = Frank T.J. Mackey
I do think it's interesting so far that both eliminations have been based not on strength or weakness, or on how much of a threat the person may be later, but on people they just don't want to deal with. Carolina got axed because she was bossy and Candace got ousted because she was talking behind people's backs.

So many people on this show continue to make the elemental mistake of not shutting the fuck up when it's most prudent.
If Candace had just kept her mouth shout, she's still on the show.

I do find it hard to believe how people were ragging on Sierra for being a weak link when she was in there fighting her ass off and Coach looked like he was out of breath from the walk out to the starting point.
Coach is just conserving his energy, till they need him. Then he'll deign to save them.
The Jew and the Hick may be the greatest alliance ever.

Taj knows how to work people. I bet she makes it far despite people knowing who her husband is. She's smart, likable, and strong (she's was taking people out in that challenge).

Coach... I don't know how more people don't find him annoying. I guess people figure he'll hang himself later.

Candace's friend is toast, particularly after that "I don't trust anybody" rant at Tribal.
I just hope Siera and Taj don't leave any time soon. I find both really attractive.
Nooooooooo Candaaaaaace whhyyyyyyy!?

What am I gonna zone out on while watching this season now? The two big reasons I had are now gone.
I love Coach. I love love love Coach. I hope he comes back for an All-Stars. He's a character right out of FOOT FIST WAY.
Coach sucks and is a tool, F-him.

This show is such a bore now, and i cant believe I am saying that.

I actually don't care who wins this, i feel nothing for any of them.
Coach is a living cartoon character. He complains about people complaining and without irony does exactly that. His "evil" Erinn was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV.

Other than that, I gotta agree its been pretty boring so far. I like the idea of the secret alliance between Brandon and Taj, and soon to be Sierra and Stephen. That could be an awesome coup, although I don't care about anyone else so it won't really be that affecting outside of an appreciation for the strategy.
Coach got fired from his day job once it was revealed he left to go film Survivor midway through his women's soccer team's season.

Without Coach, there is no season. I thought Sandy would see some screen time, but she faded away. The first few eps are usually a bit boring, but there really is nothing happening. I still say they should mix the tribes before every challenge. 39 days of pure paranoia may be interesting.

My only hope was that Jerry had been implanted with a little alien chestburster while in Afghanistan, thereby causing his pain. No such luck...

His situation reminded me of the guy who left Survivor because he couldn't shit. He had like two weeks worth of poop backed up in his colon.
Guys, this show is always slow at the start. ALWAYS. It heats up a couple of weeks in but the real game doesn't start until the merge.

I loved that he bragged about how he'd been working on it.

And I don't know if this "secret" alliance is all that secret. Brandon picked Taj pretty quickly to join him in exile, so if someone's paying attention, they have to know something is up.

Maybe? It's a pretty standard maneuver to send the same person to exile again and again. It hurts team cohesion and it keeps an immunity idol from being somewhere hidden. You send someone to exile 3 times, you just have to assume they have the idol, and you keep an eye on them post-merge.
Exactly. Sugar spent more time at Exile Island than with her own tribes.

Also, when asked by Probst the bland guy on Taj's tribe basically said they were following the strategy of the other team. Which to me showed a lack of awareness of an alliance.
And his tribe is too preoccupied with their own dumb bullshit to even notice.

It's interesting to see that Coach and Little Coach were very surprised by the vote last night. Maybe the power rests in Erinn's hands.

I don't know how Coach can give a whole speech about being leader. Leaders get picked off! You want to pretend that you're willing to help, but you have to lead from the shadows.
If I were on the show right about now, I'd be thinking "Gotta bring Coach with me to Final Tribal!" Coach T.J. Mackey may be a giant douchebag lacking any self-awareness, but he's endlessly entertaining television. I hope he at least makes the jury.

At least this season seems to have no genuinely despicable people like Randy or Corrine this time.
"I made eye contact with everyone, and using my eye contact I TOLD them to bring what we needed"

I was kind of surprised Sandy was left by the wayside storyline-wise, but maybe we'll see her when Jalapao ends up going to tribal council again. What was with that sex kitten comment, anyways? That just made me go WTF and laugh.
I think Sandy got established, so there's no need to keep going back to her while they're trying to establish other team dynamics.

Best line of the night.
Man, I liked Jerry a lot. It was really sad to see him go, and even worse, as much of an asshole as Coach is, Erinn is much, much worse. That expression she made when Jerry's torch was snuffed out? Pure evil. Sadly, she'll probably still be on at least two more episodes. If Jalapao goes to tribal council, she'll be in no risk of leaving, but if her tribe does, she can throw Sierra under the bus. I can't believe that many people bought Erinn's bullshit about how she led them through the immunity challenge. She was the one who really bungled it, as far as I can tell, not Jerry. Sierra will deservedly get the boot soon for trusting Erinn.
