Survivor: Tocantins - Page 4

I don't care about suspense. I like seeing the politiking: what decisions were made and why? Stephen just crumbled under the pressure.

I was calling out all the votes as each member addressed Steven and JT and concluded that no one would vote for Steven. I thought that after what Taj said after she wrote down the name, that it was for Steven, but i guess not.

The better person won. Was funny to see Probst laughing and smirking as he was listening to Steven dig his own grave.

We'll see Coach and Tyson again in the All Stars.

How would you guys rank this season among the others?

It's hard to do since it just happened, i would put it somewhere in the middle.

First half of this season really sucked, then the second half was pretty good.

Ending not climactic in any way, but at least the good guy won.

Will have to watch the reunion show tonight, missed it last night.

I would handicap this season only to the extent that the climax was a foregone conclusion. Whether he took Erinn or Stephen, it was a foregone conclusion that JT was going to win this thing. And I have to hand it to him, JT played an absolutely brilliant game. He managed to play tough. He managed to play smart (hell, so much smarter than I, as a viewer, gave him credit for). He managed to play true, never disguising the fact that he was a strong player and a hard worker and a serious threat. He's up there with Tom from Palau (?) in my book. I have to say that Coach seriously disappointed me in the final Tribal Council, however, as did Tyson.

The lie detector results were priceless, however.

Best season in a couple of years, I think. At least since Fiji.

I love the way JT went on and on with Stephen saying "I'm nervous" and "I don't know if I have the votes to win" and then admitted at the reunion that he kind of played that up. He did a damn good job. Sometimes the best Survivor strategy is to not say something stupid. He mastered that. Stephen didn't. Gotta say he kind of looked stung at the reunion that he got utterly shut out. I thought that maybe Erinn might vote for him, but nope.

I also enjoyed that Sierra still seemed to hate everyone within a 200 feet radius of her.

Stephen is more and more coming off as a schemer. When Probst asked what JT was going to do with the money, he mentioned that he felt obligated to start a business with Stephen. WTF? I can't imagine that was JTs idea.

I'd say this season was one of the better ones. The double exile twist was actually a good idea (so many "twists" aren't) and was the impetus for a cross tribe alliance (the first time that's ever happened I think). For the most part, there wasn't one team that dominated the whole season which makes for less boring TV. Granted Jalapoa was hurting towards the merge, but due to the cross tribe alliances, post-merge didn't turn into a slow death march, with one team just picking off the other. Coach and his stories... I mean, you can't beat that guy. Taj and JT come off as two of the nicest people ever to play the game. Yes, they had to lie to people, but it never came off as mean-spirited; just a necessary evil.Totally loved this season.

I've always been a big believer with Survivor that any "twist" will have great results...as long as they have a great cast.

Ethan Zohn (who won Survivor: Africa and appeared in the first All-Stars edition) has cancer. Damn.

Very good season, bad finale, EXCELLENT reunion show.

Jeff Probst was such an angry little bitch to everyone! I guess Coach threw him off his game with the weird lie detecter results, because he set out to humiliate Coach afterwards. He asked Debbie a question, and when she tried to answer, he cut her off with "That's great, I'm going back to Coach," and proceeded to pull Coach's Ladyfriend into the cameras and asked her what it was like to fuck Coach. So fucking gangster. Then, he had a mini-assault on the old woman. 'Usually, it's the old woman that gets booted first' and 'Say something crazy' . His angry grimacing at the camera while he forced himself to read the Buy Survivor Props segment. And his storming off stage at the end, with a curt shoulder grab to congratulate JT. Furious, petty Jeff Probst was one of my favorite parts of the season, and I liked this season.

I'm tired of likable guys winning. It was great with the old badass guy in Palau (Joe?), and all right with Yul in Race War Survivor, and I even liked the kindly old Gepetto guy who won the last one, but I want someone obnoxious, or dumb, or openly sinister, to win. They used to win all the time. At least Parvati won that terrible season a while back.
