Valentine's Day Gifts and Why I Love My Wife

Guess what I got?

Tickets to the midnight showing tomorrow at the Belcourt for Friday the 13th IV on a restored 35 MM print. I might even take her.

I'm not big on this holiday (and I literally have to be prodded, poked and hinted to death to buy a gift for her..which I'm lousy at by the way.) but it's nice to have someone who "gets" me. Okay, now I'm sounding like a dick but come on...Friday the 13th IV..on the big screen! That's 19 kinds of awesome.

What you don't realize is that you'll be getting a cork-screw through the eyeball as soon as you get back.

I get to see the Crispin Glover dance on the big screen! A quixotic-esque cinematic experience that I will relish until the metal hits the cornea.
