STEAM WEEKEND DEAL

'The Orange Box' ...9.99
Even if you own a few of these titles, grab this sucker!!

...worth it for 'Portal' alone!
Hum ... for some reason I thought it included Counter-Strike.
I think you're confusing 'Team Fortress 2'...

which I must say KICKS ASS!!
I really hate when Steam does stuff like this. I have a comp that will barely run any of them, I already own TF2, and Ive played through HL2 3 or 4 times. I still want to buy this....$10 bucks is way too good of a deal to pass up.

Soul Calibur IV
Devil May Cry 4

Both for $10 each at Best Buy.

Fuck. I stopped by there on my way home from the Festival of Books and there was nothing on the $9.99 rack aside from Hellboy and Operation Darkness.
Yeah, the BB sale is really hit or miss. Best approach is to recruit a few friends to check out different stores, if you have multiple BBs around.

I know some guys have found SC4 around Atlanta without too much trouble.

Left 4 Dead PC will be free to download and play for 24 hours.

If only I had a computer that would run it. Bleh, still awesome though.

*edit- I'm a retard. Still worth it if you haven't tried the game and have a decent system.

"Operation Darkness" is well worth ten bucks if you like your strategy/rpg games hard and unforgiving, and you dont care about graphics much; it sure as hell aint great or even good (had it been released on the original Xbox or PS2, it would had been a hit), but hell, I like it....also, most games could use a scene were a werewolf throws a nazi vampire into the sky, and then a witch lits the bastard on fire.
"Hellboy" I wouldnt touch again ever.
Also, DS games have hit some lows here...hell, a store here has all the "Ace Attorney" games on sale at 10-15 bucks.
Guitar Hero II for 360 is now only 10 bucks new at Gamestop. It should be pointed out that a used copy goes for $15.
This past friday, I went to a local comic shop that I've never been to before and saw that they sold some PS1 games. I bought, used of course, Resident Evil 2 and Dino Crisis for $10 each with original cases and instruction manuals. Coming from a comic book shop, that's pretty damn cheap.
If you'd had them BOTH for ten bucks, I'd agree with you.

RE great for nostalgia's sake...DC not so much.

Now if they EVER release DC3 for the PC I'll be first in line, if only because the premise seems so 'bat-fuck' insane.

Wiki entry.

Universe at War is only 5 bucks this weekend on Steam. Worth it?
Hell, for five bucks I could probably wrangle some entertainment even out of a JRPG.
I almost picked up a used 360 copy of Universe At War at Blockbuster for $7 bucks. Before that at Big Lots there was a couple PC Editions for $6. I figured there must be a good reason why its only that much and passed it by.
XBox Live has a bunch of classic games on sale for $3 through Amazon.

Not that I needed an excuse to snatch up TMNT: The Arcade Game finally, but still.
It might not be a bargain bin technically because it is a new release, but 10 bucks for "Plants vs Zombies" at Steam is an absolute steal. yes, the game is as much fun as you have been hearing.
Happened to peek in a Toys R Us this weekend, and I'm glad I did, because they had Civilization Revolution DS for $10.
Went to a Gamestop today and picked up the special edition of Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway for $19.99. Damn great deal that comes with a map, and an action figure, as well as exclusive characters.
Also at Gamestop, it appears MadWorld has already dropped to $30, new.

Why is uncharted still so damn expensive? Does the PS3 not have a "bargain bin?"
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is $20 on Amazon's Video Game Deal of the Day today.
Is it worth $20? I found the demo underwhelming.
That seems like a good deal to me. Thanks for the post.

That price tag will help you forgive a lot of the flaws, but there's still lots to unabashedly love in there.

While playing the demo, I remember thinking $60 was too much, but it was definitely something I'd pick up when it hit the $30 bargain bins. $20 is even better. With this at $20 this week, and Ghostbusters coming out in 2, I wonder if I'll even have enough time to make dropping $60 on Prototype worthwhile, or if I should just wait.
As someone who hates Star Wars I was totally not in the demographic for this game, but I would say to try and avoid the purchase. Even after two levels I was kind of bored with the powers, Psi Ops did telekinesis much better, and the second level is capped with one of those most bizarrely cheap and long winded bosses you’re likely to come across.
That game is a steal for 20 bucks. Yes there are issues, but it's still a pretty fun game.
$20 on 360 - $30 on PS3 - rats. Ten bucks shouldn't make much difference, but in my mind it does. Oh well, I'm doing enough electrocuting people in Infamous right now.

That $10 difference keeps me from buying games I know I'll like (see: Dead Space), much less lovable-but-flawed ones.
Freedom Force and Freedom Force 2 for five bucks on Steam.
That's an amazing deal. Those games stole a ton of time from me.
Little Big Planet is the video game deal of the day on Amazon today. 50% off at $29.99 for anyone interested.
That game is one of the few worth the sixty retail - So much fun. I've yet to construct a level of my own, but there are many great ones online, and the game itself has plenty. Highly recommended.
Cross-post from the Rock Band thread- Toys R Us is offering a free $15 gift card when you buy Rock Band Unplugged this week.
I know Gamestop sucks, but hey.
Mirror's Edge dropped to $20 this week.

I've never been so sad to see a game hit that price so fast before.
It sold over a million copies and has a sequel on the way! Don't worry too much.
Also, the single player campaign is kinda crap, really short and replay value almost entirely depends on how much you like doing speed runs in somewhat shittily designed levels with occasionally weird controls that suffer when you're not running fast and jumping high.

Goddammit, I was disappointed with that game. Oh well. They can make a better sequel.

Target seems to be purging all the House of the Dead Overkill copies from their stores. Half-price compared to the other guys.

Dead Rising for Wii is on clearance, too. I'm waiting for both of those to hit 75% off. Fingers crossed.
Looked for that one too, didn't find any copies at the local stores.
If you haven't bit on Dead Space yet, both versions are $19.99 at Gamecrazy right now. Print out the ad page here to make sure they honor it, or for pricematching at Best Buy

Attention, maggots:

Ikaruga is 400 MS points this week.

Get it. Your tiny hairless testicles will thank me someday.
If you still have a Hollywood Video store near you, Americans, all used games priced under $30 should now be selling for $5! Jump on it.
Sorry, I posted this in the PS3 thread--SonyStyle.com has The Orange Box for $11, among other things. A bit hard to navigate the site, though.
Lots of good stuff in the ads today. Fifteen bucks off inFamous and Red Faction: Guerrilla at Toys R Us. And there's a coupon for 15% off a game if you can get your hands on a physical copy of the ad (there's probably a stack at the front door if you go there).

Best Buy is running a decent promo were if you pre-order you get 10 bucks off the total price. The games listed in the ad are:

Madden '10 (suckers)
Guitar Hero 5
RB: Beatles
Halo: ODST
Splinter Cell Conviction
BioShock 2 (they still have the 11.3.09 date, though)
Modern Warfare 2
Assassin's Creed 2

And Target has a buy one, get one half off sale on 360 games. They're also giving out free gift cards for the purchase of various Xbox stuff- controllers, MS points, systems.
