Jade Empire for $3.74 on Steam, which happens to be an amount that vanished my from wallet.

I bought JE from STEAM a couple of years ago, but never could get it to run. Sadness. Lemme know if you have any luck.

I had problems with it never getting past the config screen.  So, using knowledge gleaned from the Internet, I renamed the Jade Empire .exe to the launcher and it solved the problem.

Borderlands 2 pre-order for 10% off on Steam for a few hours still.  I went in with some friends last night on a 4 pack since those are just over $160.  Essentially $40 a copy with all of the pre-order goodies seems like way too good a deal to pass up.

I pre-ordered Borderlands 2 (and only Borderlands 2, as I own the rest already) from greenmangaming.com for 40 bucks, chock-full-of the Steam pre-order goodies. use promo code PARTP-ALCNO-TIESU, which was active as of Saturday.

Assassin's Creed III for 360 = $15 at Wal-Mart.

Probably a glitch. Not the first time it's happened. And nope, NO ONE SHOULD CARE. GO. NOW.

THANK YOU.

Crap!

I guess they fixed the glitch because it wouldn't let me completely check out before notifying me that the item was no longer available.  I'd be shocked to learn that they actually honored that price at the release date.

I'm almost positive Wal-Mart does honor the price as it's their error.

At any rate, I got my order in so I guess we'll see.

WalMart canceled it. C'est la vie

Same thing happened to me. I got my order in, but got an email later in the day saying Walmart had canceled it. Oh well.

We'll get you next time, Wal Mart. NEXT TIME.

BIG FUCKING BEST BUY CLEARANCE SALE.

Virtually all of this is in-store only, so YMMV on finding what you want, but the highlights are Driver San Francisco, 007 Blood Stone, Tekken Hybrid, Infamous, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Rage, Crysis 2, Child of Eden, Dead Space 2, and Rayman Origins for $10 a pop, Bulletstorm is $5.

Driver San Francisco is really good.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is the goddamn fucking cutest cocksucking thing ever.

Children of Eden is Rez 2.

Bulletstorm is dick fighting fun and it will kill your dick, even if it doesn't know what that means.

Yeah, heard nothing but praise about Driver. That might be my pick for this whole deal. Bulletstorm suffers from Gears of War syndrome, but $5 is an impulse price if there ever was.

And I know I go through this every time the opportunity is cheaper than usual, but seriously, people: RAYMAN.

These sales are great but they probably suffer from consumer abuse.  For the last one they did not to long ago a friend of mine up in the Buffalo, NY area told me about a trip to Best Buy he made to try and snag something and some dude (probably a re-seller) swooped in and snagged the small stack of whatever game he was looking for (I forget which one, but it was one of the GOOD ones) and the store reps may have even checked the next closest store but it looked like what was probably the same guy might have done the same thing there before heading to this store.  Kind of puts a dark cloud over it, for me at least.

And though I may be completely off the mark, living in NYC I just feel like I typically have no chance with these things, especially with other life stuff going on and work, and all that.  By the time I can get to a store it's usually too late.  Like, I checked online for Driver, but the in-store stuff is all like "Not-available" for the stores around manhattan.  I can always mosey on over to one and hope for the best, but it's sooo not worth it, for the most part.

But having said that...  I checked online last night for a few things (like the previously mentioned Driver) and the one closest to where i work had Dungeon Siege III for the 360 for the $9.99, so I snagged it for in-store pickup, so I feel like i won this time!!!  Except...

It was one of the games I got on steam in their recent sale for dirt cheap to try out on my fancy pants new laptop (and it runs great!).  But I think I'm still going to the store to pick this one up on the 360.  I have a disease.  This pretty much settles it...

Help me?

ETA:  I've played a bit of both Diablo III and Dungeon Siege III on my laptop and I think I'd rather play Dungeon Siege III over Diablo III.  Do I need help for that too?

Dungeon Siege III is actually pretty good, and is just as forgettable as Diablo III. I enjoy both, but neither are great.

This is accurate. I work customer service at Best Buy and there is a guy who buys multiples (often on separate orders to circumvent order limits) of the cheap deal of the day games on bestbuy.com for in-store pickup every week. The customer service and warehouse people know his name. We can't stop him from doing this and it sucks.

GoG is having a weekend sale on indie games and the whole Ultima series; more importantly, this means Legend of Grimrock is 50% off, and must be buyed by anyone who's yet to own it.

Semi-related to the Obsidian Kickstarter thread, Gog.com is having a sale on D&D games, including Planescape: Torment, the Baldur's Gate series and the Icewind Dale series. Bye all 9 games and you get 65% off. I already grabbed this the last time they had the deal, but now with Kickstarter I've been inspired to start a fresh playthrough of Baldur's Gate, a game I've started many times but never quite finished.

And as always, anybody who's never played Planescape needs to get on that shit immediately.

I picked up Rome: Total War on Steam today for literally one dollar. Don't know if that still holds at this hour, but there you go. I seem to be able to handle 2 games at a time and right now Torchlight 2 and the first Witcher game are taking my time. Once I finish those it might be time for a strategy double header with Rome and Crusader Kings 2.

So EA is giving away free games at the moment.

Just use the code OS3874XVC when you checkout. Works for the most digital games $20 and below. Might be only available to US and Canada. You can abuse the code and get more than one game. Up to you if its worth dealing with Origin to play them.

I was able to get Burnout: Ultimate Box, Sim City 4, and Darkspore.

That thread over on gaf is epic, in just how many free games people are snagging and downloading. Curious to see how many of those folk get to keep their loot once EA reigns the exploit in, and how many people will lose their once previous legitimate origin accounts from the ban hammer (if that happens). I hate EA but not enough to borderline pirate games from them for nothing - lost sales only hurt developers.

Ah yah, I'm kinda keeping it in mind that I won't actually get to keep any of these games. Never used my Origin account for anything else besides demos so I figured an account banning won't be a huge loss.

I refrained from going "super market sweeps" and just went after the games I actually wanted to play. Burnout was the first game I checked out with so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I at least get to keep that.

You have a point about the lost sales, I never really thought about that. frown.gif

Maybe it will work out in some magical way where EA apologizes to them by giving them unlimited creative/financial freedom on their next project.

Xbox live has some on-demand games for cheap:

Metro 2033 - $10

Saints Row 2 - $15

Darksiders  - $10

If you've got the hard drive space at least one of those should be a good investment.   I'm saving for XCOM but damn if Metro isn't calling to me.

Steam Halloween sale going on. Lots of good deals.

Vampire the Masquarade is great.  It's Deus Ex Vampires. And not pussy vampires, either.  There's Nosferatus, insane vamps, magic vamps, katana vamps and shotgun toting vamps. And you can play as all of them!

Orcs Must Die is really good, too.  I just picked up the sequel, which added co-op.  It's a tower defense game, where you're on the ground, capping orcs and stabbing them, too.  It reminds me a bit of those old PS1 Tecmo's Deception games.  God, those games were rad.

Anna and House are in indie packs around the web, so if you want those, I'd reccomend check them out. I think Groupees and Indie Royale?

Condemned! Finally on Steam!  1st person Hobo Fighter!

The Walking Dead is fantastic, guys.  One of the best games of the year.

Cthulhu Saves the World 2 pack.  99 cents, fuckers. Do it.

Ghost House is supposed to be really cool.  I've owned but never gotten around to it.  You have to haunt a house.  Set your ghosts up and as the people wander, scare the shit out of them.  Think Frighteners, the video game.

Prototype 1 and 2 for $9.99 on Amazon.

The first one was fun on the 360, but had some control issues and inconsistent difficulty. Never played the second.

Looks like Wal-Mart is going to have a ton of games $25 or lower for Black Friday: X-Com, Dishonored, Spec Ops: The Line.......I know where I'll be spending my funds.

Major Nelson has just posted the list of the Xbox Live Thanksgiving Holiday deals. They are actually live now. The only thing that caught my eye was Magic: The Gathering 2013 for $5. Still, it's a big list.

Not a whole lot of Black Friday awesome this year, BUT Amazon will have Spec Ops The Line for $15.  Considering it's one of the best underplayed games of the year, everyone should probably jump on that shit.

Yeah, it's been a lame duck season for sales from the big three (Best Buy, TRU, and Amazon) who this time last year had a week of buy 1 get 1 free (or buy 2 get 1 free) sales on pretty much the fall batch of AAA games. Those sales were great in finalizing xmas gifts to friends and family; only highlight this year being Dishonored going for half off on Amazon tomorrow morning. Wal-Mart apparently has massive sales on blackfriday, fuck that I don't want to die for games or cross any delicious corporate pwning picket lines.

Currently snagging blurays this year for folk instead.

Steam thanksgiving sale starts this morning, November 21-27. There are a couple of indies on my wishlist that I'll probably snag but I'm set with what I have.

KMart has Max Payne 3 today for $8.99.

Dishonored is now $25 bucks at Amazon, fly you fools...The deal was suppose to unlock this afternoon after 1 pm, but the store will sell it to you now - so get it before it's sold out.
So the big Steam sale is going on, and I have about 15 bucks I can spend. So my question is which do I get? The Walking Dead, ARMA 2, or Spec Ops:The Line.

ETA: Too late. I went with Spec Ops.

Me too. Haven't really dived in yet, but that opening is aces.

Tip of the iceberg, gents. You ain't seen shit yet.

Also, pay attention to the title screen as you keep going.

Picked up Spec Ops: The Line based on the good word here, and 007 Legends at Wal-Mart in the wee hours of this morning when my friend and I went bargain hunting. We stopped off a Game Stop near the college we both graduated from since he'd been looking for the 32 GB Wii-U, and luckily they had one left. They also had the new editions of Doom 3 and Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 for $20, so I snagged those as well. Kind of bummed that I wasn't able to get Call Of Juarez: Cartel, since I saw that one advertised for 8 bucks. Still, a nice little haul.

So far so good on Spec Ops, but holy shit I can already tell this is a pretty short one. Glad I got it on sale.
There can't be possibly anything more left on steam for me to want and buy as of today, and on top of that my 3 tb drive is down to its last 8 gigs, now that I've snagged Orcs and Men and Fallen Enchantress from the steam sales.....and shit, Far Cry 3 is a couple of weeks away.

Hey, fuckers. Hotline Miami is 5 bucks on the Steam sale. It's like playing cocaine. Do it.

Dishonored and Borderlands 2 are 30 bucks on Steam right now.

Gamestop has Witcher 2 for 360 for $9.99 for Cyber Monday.

Holy snappers!  I'm all over that as soon as I get home.  Good thing I asked for a new hard drive for Christmas.
