Assassins II is $39.

No dice.
Indeed. Nary a die shall be thrown at that. Sirrah.

Monocle.
Not worth it for half that, really.
I thought it might dip to $30, $25 if they wanted to immediately move them all.

Oh well, I'll just pirate a copy or something. (I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I wouldn't even know where to ask someone how to do that. Well other than Craigslist, where there are like 5 or 6 ads a day for someone who will mod your system. But I'd never pirate games).

Amazon's Video Game Deal of the Day is Army of Two: The 40th Day for $40.

I've really been enjoying it and that seems like a good price for it.
Steam has Psychonauts for $2 through Thursday.

I picked up 50 CENT: BLOOD ON THE SAND because it was cheap and I heard it was fun.

No, it really isn't. The controls are, in the parlance of our hero, wack like a motherfucker.

GOG.com is releasing a bunch of old Activision games this month. First up is Arcanum and the first Gabriel Knight game for $5.99 each.

Ah awesome. I've been really tempted to pick up Arcanum from other more expensive places for awhile now.

If memory serves, both Arcanum and GK were Sierra, not Activsion.
But both great games, and well worth the six bucks.
And since we are talking about GOG, I highly recommened "Sanitarium" if you have not played it. It is an adventure game that is on the level with Lucasarts and Sierra's Best.
GOG seems to have found a nice place for itself by doing a lot of very good games that were never quite the sucess they deserved to be, or old DOS games that Steam does not think worth while. And GOG is much better for tech support then Steam. And that once you download the game it's yours, and you can back it up, and do not need any propreity program to run it a la Steam are other great points.

Activision bought/merged with Vivendi Universal who had bought Sierra.

I have to 2nd this. The town level with the children and pumpkin patch is worth the purchase alone. Extremely creepy.

I actually wanted to do a play through this past summer. Went to install and for some weird reason my PC destroyed one of the discs. Broke it completely in half. I was so upset because at the time GOG didn't have it and I figured it would be hard to find.

That is a known issue with the discs in the original version of the game. A lot of the discs had a flaw that made the discs explode when used in a modern high speed CD or DVD drive. The CD Drives at the time did not go fast enough to cause the disc to crack so it went undetected.
The 2002 rerelease of the game is safe and you can find a set for around 15 bucks, but why bother when you can download it from GOG for less?

X-Com complete for 2 bucks! Fucking Steam. I've got about four games on there that I haven't beat yet just because of these ridiculous deals. They're also selling the Freedom Force Pack for 2 bucks.

BOUGHT! It took me 3 seconds to decide to buy it.

Same. Now I got something to dick around with on my laptop when I'm on vacation.

You play video games on vacation?

I just picked up Red Faction: Guerrilla off Direct2Drive. It's the deal of the week and is only $5 for PC.

I'd played it on PS3 before and really enjoyed it so I'm hopeful that on my more powerful PC it'll look great.

Hope it runs better for you than it did for me.

It gets pretty boring at the airport sometimes.

I'm considering this-- what kind of issues did you have, and on how fast a machine?
Well, it runs great on 'High' settings on my quad core with a 512MB GT 8800. The only thing I'd really complain about is that the driving controls kind of suck with the keyboard.
I still have my original X-Com discs, and it never played right on my last laptop (HP). However, I'm psyched that I installed XP on my new Mac, and transferred over my Steam account as well. This will be the best two bucks I've spent in a long time.
Seriously, at $2, you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't pick up the Freedom Force pack.
wooojustgotit

Not that I need any more games, but hey. $2 is $2.
Well, now for some reason my transaction won't go through on Steam at all. Tried Paypal and a credit card. I haven't tried giving away two bucks this hard since college.

Bought it a LONG tiem ago during a sale (my original game had gotten stolen); haven't replayed it, but I just might go back just to once again control EL DIABLO!!!
God dammit, that game was way better than many, many comic books.

Couple good deals in the Toys R Us ad this morning-

With purchase of Bioshock 2 (on 2/9) you get a Big Sister/Little Sister action figure set. The ad wasn't clear whether it was a pre-order only thing.

Mass Effect 2 is $15 off and you get a free $10 gift card with purchase.

Dammit, I'm still not caught up on games from last year so I swore not to buy any new games at full price, but you're sorely tempting me.

In what UNIVERSE is this full price?

Titan Quest and the expansion are up as a deal for $4.99 on Steam for their Mid-Week Madness thing. Pretty good deal, that.

Agreed. I played the hell of out these, and I still load it from time to time and lose hours. Diablo 3 is still a ways off - this will make the wait easier. Still looks great.

Apparently the "ME2 for $45" deal at Toys R Us is a misprint and the store will not necessarily honor the error. Does anyone have experience with pricematching at Best Buy or Target?

The Best Buy and Toys R Us here are right across the street from each other. I'm afraid if I try pricematching at Best Buy some manager will say "sorry, we know it's a misprint. tough titties, cheapskate".

You can try the price match. But Best Buy may be aware of the misprint by now. If you try it, direct the employee's attention to the small ME2 graphic at the bottom of the page, not the big one at the top. Because the $10 gift card giveaway is clearly associated with ME2 at the regular $60 price, I think it would be impossible to try and price match and get ME2 at $45 and get the gift card.

I noticed Sunday that it was clearly an error in the sales flyer. ME2 was listed as $60 at the top of the page, with the $10 gift card incentive. But at the bottom of the page, the cover art for ME2 was mistakenly shown (should have been Modern Warfare 2) in the "Hot Games" section with a $45 price.

I felt too guilty to try pricematching. The $10 gift card will be handy for Heavy Rain at the end of the month, though.

Let me save you that gift card, gravedigger. I believe I can replicate Heavy Rain:

Vampire:The Masquerade for Six Bucks at GOG.
Steam is now being a complete dick to wallets.

They're doing week long sales, now.

This week: The Total War Series. Bomb ass tactics for your PC, all for $20.
Also on Steam, the new STALKER game sells for 9.99 for anyone that has already bought any of the first two.
It was mentioned in the PS3 thread too but flOw is FREE on the PSN today only (Feb. 13).

The Void, a psycho, nutshit Eastern European game is 5 bucks on Direct2Drive. Sale ends the 15th. It's totally worth it. Those crazy Eastern Europeans.

Also, a couple more PC games are on sale in the sale. Including Fallout 3:GOTY edition for 25 bones.
The next expansion for DoWII is available for pre purchase on Steam for $30. Supposedly you get Saints Row 2 free with the purchase but my games tab remains Busey free. I feel as if I've been played. Or the victim of a programming bug.

EDIT: Weirdly, I had to "gift" it to myself in order to receive and play it. Still, it's a pretty fun game and is kind of a steal at $0.00. I'm only, maybe, 5% into the game and I've already streaked through an airport buck naked and brained a crowd of pimps with a pay phone (wielded like a club, naturally). I have seen a monster truck driving around but have not yet captured it for myself.

Interstate 76 for Six Buck at GOG.
If you never played this, I pity you.
Best "Car Wars" style game ever, and one of the best soundtracks for a game ever.
If you ever wanted to be really late to the party and give Everquest a try, Steam has the basic game plus all the expansions on sale for $2.50. Still have to subscribe though.
