Just bought Dead Rising and Crackdown for $15 a piece!
Okay, so I hardly game any more. But I gotta ask:

What's a BC list?
Backwards Compatibility
Thanks.

See, all I gots is a PS2, so that's pretty much all I look at game-wise.
I got Ninja Gaiden 2 at Best Buy today for $10. They're selling Condemned 2 for $10 too, if you're so inclined.
Hey good find Egg. I remember hearing that Condemned 2 wasn't bad - certainly it's worth a Hamilton.
Amazon Gold Box is video games, beginning at Midnight PST.
Eternal Sonata for PS3 for $35 right now on Amazon. Good for 3 more hours, but it looks to be selling out fast.

Looks like maybe Left 4 Dead at 4PST. Hint is "Alternative to No Child Left Behind." 11PST is a 360 RPG. Hoping for Tales myself, though Eternal Sonata is tempting.
Alright... I just bought Mass Effect for the new dropped price of 20 bucks. Did I do good? Is this game worth it?
The only real complaints I have with Mass Effect are the broken inventory system and somewhat repetitive interiors. It's probably the best RPG on the 360, if you're into that sort of thing.
I loved ME. Kind of a slow start (I spent hours running around that initial space station) but it picks up speed to an amazing finish. Definitely worth $20.

Luminous Arc 2 for DS (w/ soundtrack CD) for $26.
Eh.
I managed some decent PS3 deals with post-holiday sales.

I got Guitar Hero: World Tour on sale at Best Buy two weeks ago for $35. And my local Blockbuster had a BOGO deal on used games, so I snagged both NHL08 and NBA07 for a grand total of $9.99.

For $10, take your medicine. It's good for you.
Ninja Gaiden II is a lot easier than the first one. I nearly planted my controller into the TV screen playing the first one on the XBOX.
The best type of cheap games, at least for me are...compilations, and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection features 40 80's Sega Genesis games which includes...Streets Of Rage 1-3, Golden Axe 1-3, Super Thunder Blade (you fly a supercopter ripped off of the...Blue Thunder film.) 4 Phantasy Star rpg's, other rpg's, and 5-6 Sonic Games etc. SUGC is in stores 2/11 for $30 playable on the Xbox 360, and PS3.
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 for $9.99 on Steam for the weekend. Picked it up myself last night.
Amazon is selling their 12+1 month-long XBOX Live cards for $29.99. They are sold out right now, but they state that more on their way on the 22nd.

I just ordered one myself.
Steam has marked Mount and Blade down from $29.99 to $7.50. With everything I've been hearing about it, can't afford not to try it at that price.
Yeah, when I saw that price I had to check it out.
You know, DARK SECTOR is $12.99 used at Gamestop. It's a really good game at $12.99. It isn't at, say, $29.99 or higher.
NewEgg is selling The Simpsons Game on the 360 for $9.99 with free shipping.

At the very least it will be worth setting up a NewEgg account.
Anyone had any experiences or heard good things about Go Gamer? They have some great deals on old PC games but im a bit hesitant on ordering. They look a bit shady.....
I've ordered some deals from them in the past. Cheapassgamer.com links to them all the time as well. You should feel fine ordering from them.
I'm seeing the PC version of Two Worlds for $9.99. I've heard some bad things about the game, but is it bad at any price?

Target has (at least the one I've been visiting on the reg) has the first Rock Band w/ instruments on sale for under $40. Has non-wireless instruments, but still.
$40? Is that all platforms, or just PS2?
For 360 only, I think.
Which Target do you visit?

If its $40, I HAVE to pick this up.

Braid is 33% off on the Xbox Live Marketplace this week, at 800 Points.

Another 'Steam' Weekend Spectacular!

75% off 'Lost Planet: Extreme Condition'...4.99 to you.

I've no idea if this, minus the 'Colonies' add-on, is great gaming, but here...
Read Alex's review.
Lost Planet: Colonies Edition Review

...at THAT price I'm buying it anyway!

...Even though it appears to be a lightgun game, with attitude...and lightgun games CAN be fun!
Let's DO this!!

edit (Left4Dead sales rose 3000% for Valve 2 weeks ago...so more 'great games' becoming ridiculously 'cheap games' will hopefully be happening every weekend!
Check Steam every Friday!)
I bought Burnout Paradise for 17.99 at K-Mart the other day. I was surprised by the video game "sale rack" they had. A lot of pretty good games for less than 20 bucks. Check your K-Mart...you might be surprised by what you can find!
I got Lock's Quest for the DS at Target for $14, hidden back on the Endcap of Shame. Supposedly it's pretty fun.

Same here. I played the demo, and enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to tackling the whole thing-- maybe after Ninjatown. Should be well worth the $15.

World Of Goo is $5 this weekend on Steam!

Soul Calibur IV - PS3 - £11.99

If you don't own it you probably should. It's a bargain at that price.

Broken Sword 2+3 for 10 bucks! http://www.gog.com/en/page/broken_sword_promo/
post #99 of 2579
There's a notable sale on new (as in not used) games at Blockbuster Video stores right now. Quite a few things are half off or more. If you're in the market for some stuff from last year, you might find a good deal.

I bought:

Mario Strikers Charged - $15
Rock Band Track Pack for Wii - $10
Drawn To Life - $10

Phantom Hourglass is 10, too. Bioshock PS3 is 20. Mario Super Sluggers is 20. Visit your friendly neighborhood CAG if you'd like to see a full list, or just check your local store, as stock varies by location.

I'm the very epitome of a cheap-ass gamer. I love my games but certainly cant spend a cool AUS$120 on a single 360 title. So it's usually trade in and preowned 2nd hand games for me.

That said, my laptop doesn;t really play games that are less than 18 months old so PC games are a relatively cheap affair. That and I don;t mind being the last guy to discover a classic PC title as it means I only get the good stuff and usually pretty cheap.

After recently getting (and being pretty disappointed by) Civilization Revolution for my 360, I went to my local game shop during one of their '2 For $50' sales and picked up a par of gangbusters I haven't played yet.

First grab was Warcraft 3 (yes yes I realise I'm WAAAAY behind the curve on that particular title, but while I'll never be a Wow boy, I adored WC2 back in 96 and yet number 3 just passed me by).

The other game I picked up was the Gold Edition of Company of Heroes which also includes Oppossing Fronts - god damn is that a brilliant fucking game.

So yeah, 2 (well, 3 really) classic RTS's for $50 Australian - Bargain.
