Goddamnit Steam. I still haven't played 75% of my library, most of which I've accumulated through these sales.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a deal on Skyrim.  Even if it's only discounted 25% or something.  However, if it doesn't go on sale now, there's a good chance it will during the Christmas sale in a month.

Best you get is that Target's offering it with a $10 gift card on Friday and Saturday.

$12 off 2 used games at Gamefly. Use this code at the checkout: BFSBLK20112USED

Raid their Under $20 section, it almost becomes a B1G1 sale. And there's some gems to be found in that section--Portal 2, Crysis 2, Shadows of the Damned, Dead Space 2, the original Marvel vs Capcom 3, Duke Nukem, if you hate yourself.....

Target's Black Friday has it at $40 with that $10 gift card though.  That's a pretty good deal.

Yeah, but then you have to go to Target on Black Friday.

Today's Steam Deals:

Monkey Island Special Edition Bundle - $5.09
Zeno Clash - $3.74
Rift - $7.49
VVVVVVV - $1.24
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 - $10.19
Red Orchestra 2 - $20 (Original Red Orchestra $5)
Two Worlds 2 - $13.59
LA Noire - $24.99
Total War Mega Pack - $12.49
Sniper Ghost Warrior - $5.99
Fallout New Vegas - $4.99
Operation Flashpoint Red River - $11.24

Monkey Island, definite buy. VVVVVV, buy. Total War Megapack, buy. Fallout New Vegas, buy. I'd stay away from Red Orchestra 2 and LA Noire; RO2 is buggy as hell and the fixes are coming at a slow pace - you're signing up to be a beta tester at this point, and LA Noire has been cited as a piss poor port. Zeno Clash was okay when I played it but not compelling enough to stick to it, but maybe at the low price point you could take a chance on it.

If I didn't already own the Witcher titles, I'd definitely be getting them.  Those games would be a steal at twice the price.

I'm still holding out a sliver of hope that Skyrim will be on sale tomorrow, but it will most likely be a recap of previous deals.  Oh well.  I've got a ton of things to play as it is, and Skyrim might go on sale in a month when I am more prepared to play it.

Gifted some Witcher 1 this afternoon. The only thing I'm hoping for right now is Morrowind GOTY, missed it when Bethesda/ID had their special earlier in the fall.
Today's final Steam Deals, and surprise no recap of previous deals:

Magic Duels of the Planewalkers - $3.99
Driver San Francisco - $24.99
Red Faction Armageddon - $16.99 (Franchise sale also has Red Faction Gorillas - $6.79)
Thief Deadly Shadows - $4.99
Modern Warfare 2 - $14.99
Greed Corp - $2.49
Section 8 Prejudice - $3.74
Dead Space 2 - $4.99 (Franchise sale also includes Dead Space 1 - $4.99)
Divinity 2 Dragon Knight Saga - $9.99
Fable 3 - $24.99
Europa Universalisisalisisealiasiasisasis III3III - $3.74 (Also includes other franchise items that I'm not arsed to bother listing)
Demolition Inc - $2.49

If you're too poor to go Skyrimming, get your epic Dragon on in Divinity 2. Both Dead Space's, buy. Section 8, has games for windows live (a con to some folk - but has 1000 achievements to be gained compared to the xbla version), also it's fucking cheap. Red Faction Guerilla, buy.

You and me both, Buddy...at least its been working on, but last i heard, Ancel is making it for the next gen of consoles.

Also, GoG released the complete edition of Ultima VII today...owning such a piece of rpg history at 6 bucks is a steal.

The Really Big Bundle is up at Indie Royale. It includes Really Big Sky (currently the only way you can get it on Steam), Runespell: Overture, Eufloria, and the delightful package of parody RPGs, Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII. Buying the bundle also gives you codes for Steam and Desura, if you need them.

This deal is pretty insane, and it's all for charity (potentially), so you have little excuse.

Dungeons of Dredmor has been added to the pot, for those who pay more than the minimum.

They need to start making more indy gems because they'll be running out eventually...unless they can start throwing Skyrim and Witcher class games into these things. Dredmore is so worth it by itself.

GOG is having a holiday sale going until January 2nd. Goddamn near every game in their catalog is 50% off, and Empire Earth is totally free for the next 2 days. Activision checks out on the 26th of December, and Codemasters and Piranha Bytes aren't participating at all.

And another Royal Indie Bundle is on. This one features the Blackwell Trilogy: Remastered, Eets, Dino D-Day, and The Oil Blue. Honestly don't care about those last three, but I've been meaning to pick up the Blackwell Trilogy forever, soooooo...

Great haul! So far I've only bit on Ultima VII, but I won't be able to hold out forever.

Another day, another indie bundle. This time it's Humble Indie Bundle #4, and it's PACKED this time around: Jamestown, Bit.Trip Runner, Super Meat Boy, Shank, and Night Sky. And if you pay more than average price, you get Cave Story + and Gratuitous Space Battles. Unfortunately for me, I already own 5 out of 7, but this might be the best bundle I've seen yet.

Telltale Games is having a holiday sale, every season of their game series (except Jurassic Park) are $9.99 right now. Some seasons cost up to $35 regularly, so this is quite a steal.

Hmm, am tempted by that BTTF season collection. Not sure whether to give the Steam christams sale a few days and see what comes up first, though. Decisions, decisions...

IT BEGINS.

Steam Christmas Sale, Day 1. Highlights of the daily deals:

Amnesia - $5

Portal 2 - $7.50

Metro 2033 - $5

Just Cause 2 - $5

Max Payne 1 & 2 - $2.50 each

Orcs Must Die - $3.74

Fable 3 - $12.49

Metro 2033 for a fiver was an easy buy - it's long been one of those games I've always wanted to play but it was never the right time. I'm also very VERY tempted by Amnesia for the same price. Very nearly put down Portal 2 as well, but decided against it since I already have the 360 version (And yes, more user created maps are fine but I'd never get the chance to play 'em).

Apart from that, I bought Republic Commando for $6, as I've been wanting to play that again for ages. There's certain things I specifically want to get (KOTOR for $6 and the discounted Fallout: NV DLC) but outside that I think I'm going to go wait for the daily deals until I absolutely, unavoidably can't spare any more money... Which probably won't be that long!

Crossing my fingers for daily deals on Saints Row the Third (unlikely, especially as it's already been discounted) and a Tropico 4 bundle. Other than that, we'll just have to wait and see...

Just Cause 2 and Singularity and Orcs Must Die are very good.

Fable 3 is garbage.

Wait until the last day to buy something that isn't a daily!  It may just go on sale...

Dear Santa,

Please let Steam's Holiday Sale have a good deal on Skyrim before it ends.  I want to slay dragons and hear about arrows in the knee like everyone else.  I've been really, really good this year. I promise.

Sincerely,

Polygon_Wizard

Amen.

I think $30 is as low as they could possibly go, right?

Man if Skyrim shows up for $30, I would fully expect Steam's servers to explode.  I'm not expecting anything lower than $45 if they even put Skyrim on sale at all.

I never got around to it once I heard it wasn't great but Metroid: Other M on the Wii is $4.99 on BestBuy.com with in-store pick-up: www.bestbuy.com/site/Metroid%3A+Other+M+-+Nintendo+Wii/9903855.p?id=1218192429888&skuId=9903855&st=metroid

Haven't officially bought anything from the steam sale so far, not for myself that is, because I own mostly everything. Wife opened up a steam account and if any worthy coop games do pop up they'll be nabbed. Took the past day off to pre-emptively hammer out some of those achievements related to the holiday special. And So Can YOU! Done most of them, mostly easy except for the shit grind of AI War (not cheating by using the supplied save files) and trying to make it through Bit Trip Runner/Super Meatboy. Just waiting on December 25th to roll out to nab the couple date specific ones. Was pleasantly surprised to see a free copy of Portal 2 come my way which the wife quickly snapped up for her computer. Currently sitting on 9 coals - makes more sense to give them all to my wife so she can win her top 10 wishlist or the god damned motherlode; but not really expecting anything I think Portal used up all my steam karma.

Looks like Arkham City for $24.99 is the big deal today.

Would be awesome if we could maybe organize a way for us to trade games or items. I'm sitting on a couple coupons that I'm not much interested in at the moment.

Don't know who started it but there was a CHUD steam group from a while back...would be the place to go to see if anyone wants to trade.

I'm still in that Steam group, we need more members. I can be a gifting fool around the holidays.

Am in the Chud group as well, will let everyone know if I have anything to trade/pass on.

I am in the group, too, and am still active on Steam.  Don't believe I have anything extra in my account right now, though.

Green Man Gaming is selling Saints Row: The Third for $20 until Boxing Day: http://www.greenmangaming.com/games/action/saints-row-the-third/

The posted price is $39.99, but by entering the code FIFTY-SAINT-XMASS you get 50% off. As a Steamworks title, you get a Steam key for it as well so you don't have to bother with the slightly disappointing daily deal.

Skyrim is up today on Steam at 33% off.

So, I totally cheat my way into getting the 'Now I Have A Machine Gun. Ho Ho Ho' cheevo on Frozen Synapse. My reward? Portal 2.

Valve, I hereby grant you permission to marry my hypothetical daughter.

Ok, so I can only gift Steam games to people who are "friends", not just people in the CHUD group. So, if you have a Steam wishlist, and can take a moment to friend me, I'll gift you a game (assuming I know who you are on the boards). Naturally, I can only do a few, and the less expensive the better, and first come first serve blah blah blah. This offer expires at midnight tonight, Christmas Day, EST., or when my budget runs out.

Sales items and loyal Chewers will get first consideration. I'm thinking five good gifts for tonight.

Merry Christmas!

EDIT: I'm logged into Steam, and I'll be home relaxing in front of the pc/tv all night. This is no joke. I want to give some of you lunatics a game.

Awright, I'm game. Have sent you a friend request (I'm MechaStatham on Steam). Unfortunately I don't have much to give in return, that is unless you're hanging out for a 25% off an Activision game coupon (Nah, thought not). Still, if there's anything woth slinging my way that's cool.

By the way, anyone who wants a stark reminder of how gamers can be more obnoxious than any other geek subculture might want to check out the Steam Christmas Sale thread on NeoGAF. Even for the bunch of inveterate whiners that GAF has always been, the sheer amount of melodrama and gnashing of teeth over a free promotion (The achievement stuff) is staggering.

So far I've got a couple nice coupons. 50% off L4D2, The Ball, Chantelise, Valve, bitComposer, and a 25% off Assassin's Creed: Revelations. If anyone is interested I would love to trade for some coal or a game. Also willing to unload a bunch of TF2 items.

OK, it's 9:30 on the east coast, and I still have about $200 to spend on Chewers. This goes back in my pocket at midnight. Worky's got the first.
