Saw this show Friday night in Camden - pretty great, except for the cold and rainy conditions. I didn't make it for Streetsweeper, but NIN was really good. Reznor was going all out for the crowd - dancing around, doing the clap-your-hands-over-your-head thing, and even playing the tambourine (!). They blasted thru an almost 2 hour set that was heavy on the rockin' songs with just a few slower, more ambient pieces. Reznor found a bra onstage and laughed as he draped it over Robin Finck's shoulder. Their set was pretty minimal on the production side (probably a good idea since they took the stage before it was dark and many of the lighting effects would have been lost on the crowd).
If NIN were fast, loud and punchy, Jane's Addiction seemed like the direct opposite. Long, drawn-out songs that sounded very clean and polished. They opened with Three Days and it was epic. Perry danced around the stage and made banter from time to time, which was good because the rest of the band seemed very locked into the songs and seemed to barely notice the crowd. Eric Avery really brought the low end to all of the songs. They played most of Nothing's Shocking and about half of Ritual, nothing from Strays.
All in all it was a great show and I'm glad I finally saw them live. Here's a pic from the show that I found...
