But how can she resist Kurt Russell's hirsuteness? HOW?

Alright, I admit it. I was the one who canceled Star Trek.

That's not really a sin though.

I'm amazed and kinda proud that the Donald Sutherland Body Snatcher pic hasn't shown up yet. Good show, folks!

Hey there, sucky thread. Yeah I see you have a new hair-do and are in a flashy new dress, but I'm still not taking you back.

I'm such an asshole, I'll probably beat everyone here.

1. I like the Family Guy and Robot Chicken Star Wars parodies more than I like Star Wars.

2. Co-op multiplayer doesn't do it for me at all. Either versus or single player.

3. I like The Office more than 30 Rock.

4. I've never seen a full ep of the Sopranos, Lost, Battlestar, or The Wire.

5. My favorite band of all time is Hootie and the Blowfish.

Nah. We need a new one. Someone get a screengrab of David Clennon and PhotoShop a word balloon that says: "You gotta be f**king kidding..."

I didn't like Superbad.

I have only seen the first season of 24.

I gave up on BSG half way through the second season beacause i missed to many eppisodes.

I spend less time on the internet than i used to.

Crank was the cinematic equivalent of lowering your ballsbag into a corn-thresher.

Equilibrium made me want to claw my eyes out and stuff them into my asshole so I could watch superior shit.

I like to think that people have realised how absolutely wrong they were about Equilibrium when it first came out.

That being said: I hated Speed Racer

I have never seen an Uwe Boll film

I think Eli Roth is a hack (though I'll admit that the first Hostel's not bad)

I am in no way looking forward to Inglorious Basterds

I like Avenged Sevenfold.

Due to always wanting to have caught it for the first time on a cinema screen...

...I have yet to see Apocolypse Now

I'd have mentioned my own dislike of Lucas's original trilogy, but I've never seen then unduly praised here in the first place.

No. But Back to the Future is.

I love Ghostbusters, though.

...are we honestly classing Ghostbusters as being in ANY way a horror film tho? Really?

An American Werewolf In London, I'll go with, but Ghostbusters is pure comedy.

Having ghosts in it doesn't make it a horror-comedy any more than shoving feathers up my butt makes me a chicken.

I've gotten through the first three volumes of Scott Pilgrim and I feel the exact same way I did before I read the first panel. Bored.

I can't stand Scarlet Johanson. I'm not sure how much is from her very low IQ, how much is from her extremely poor acting ability, or how much is from my raised expectations from first seeing (and liking) her in Ghost World.

Caddyshack is awful. Awful, awful, awful. Shame on you for liking it! (Except some Bill Murray moments which are ok.)

Speaking of Scarlet and Bill... I didn't like Lost in Translation.

Shit dude. I agree with you and all, but there's some hate coming your way. I started a Bill Murray thread years ago and wrote this film off as some good Murray and the rest poor and got some real anger directed at me.

Oh, I'm ready. I even went back and rewatched it a couple years ago after reading so much CHUD love. Nope. Still awful.

I liked the edited for tv version when I was younger because the gopher was so damn cute. That didn't play so well when I was in my 20s. What is everyone else's excuse for liking it? It's still the gopher, isn't it? You can admit it.

Well, say what you will, but I'd classify it as a horror comedy because the ghosts don't get played for laughs (with the exception of Stay Puft, which is probably the best executed visual gag of the 80s). They're real, they're dangerous, and in the case of the Terror Dogs, yeah, pretty effin' creepy. The chair scene, for example, is more Poltergeist, less Stripes, if you get my drift. I'd say Ghostbusters is a comedy first, sci-fi/horror film second, while American Werewolf is the vice versa.

Even though it's not a scary as American Werewolf, the first film managed to feel as big as Star Wars and still be a no-shit comedy, something American Werewolf didn't do. Add on top of that one of the best comedic ensembles ever assembled, a crackerjack mix of both scripted and ad-libbed one liners, perfect pacing, and some really gorgeous cinematography (go back and really pay attention; Lazlo Kovacs really did a number on it), and the result is something we'd never seen before. Last time someone tried to blend comedy and huge effects we got 1941; the characters inevitably get lost in the mayhem. Ghostbusters managed to focus the effects in such a way that they service the story and the characters. No one had pulled that off in the new Hollywood system, and no one's really pulled it off the same way since (and I say that as a fan of the first Men in Black).

So, yeah, when it comes down to brass tacks, I'd say Ghostbusters is a more remarkable film than American Werewolf. And it kicks the shit out of Little Shop, a musical I like and a film I enjoy, but holy boringly shot, Batman!

I know its not blockbustery or high budget enough to count, but how about "The Frighteners"?

"The Spirit" i suppose...or maybe its backlash because she wasnt smart enough to convince Michael Bay to let her do nudity in "The Island".

Not really. She was smart enough to not get caught in Biel-ian roles. And with that body it's not a stretch to think about it or an easy task to do.

Thats Woody thinking for her instead...in the bed!

- I've never seen a Woody Allen film
- Even though I own a copy. I've never read Watchmen
- I rented Freaks & Geeks from Netflix and couldn't get into it at all.
- I go directly to the Gossip section when I first log onto the Chud forums

Thing is, I don't disagree with any of that Greg, I just think of it as pure comedy personally is all.

I think we can both agree its a fucking brilliant film regardless tho.

I haven't liked any of Judd "Savior of Comedy" Apatow's films, or any offshoots like Superbad.

I thought No Country For Old Men was a piece of shit.

Other than those two... I think I'm pretty clean.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. I can understand not liking No Country (no I can't), but a piece of shit? That's objectively immoral.
I kinda didn't hate Steve Martin's Pink Panther
I don't think Apatow is god, in fact I think his films are above average and getting worse.
Seth Rogen isn't funny all the time. I didn't like Pineapple Express that much.
Old school horror films isn't going to get an 8.5 just because its old school. Shitty acting is shitty acting. I'm too mainstream.
I liked Bale's Batman voice.
I want to see Watchmen, but if I don't, it won't kill me.
This might be more at Devin but, Paul Walker? Seriously?

I hate the current DVD style reviews, I miss the old ones. Hell I miss the old crew, and the lack of Nick sucks.

edit: Oh and Iron Man was only decent. Sucked at the end, and I fear a Schumacher Iron Man 2. Oh and Marvel < DC

To call it a piece of shit is to demonstrate a total lack of appreciation for film as craft. It's as meticulously made as anything this decade.

It's also meticulously boring to an insufferable degree, but I digress.

I'd forgotten another one:

I think Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan is lots of fun.
That's some weak ass confessions. No here we go:

- I hate Zombie movies and George A. Romero should really retire NOW!
- I fell asleep 20 minutes into The Fountain and never felt an urge to finish it.
- The Crystal Skull was a better time at the theater than Iron Man and
Pineapple Express combined.
- Abrams Trek looks so much better than any Trek before it.
- I watch Top Model
- I find Ricky Gervais annoying and completely unfunny

This is dumb.

If you don't like it, fine. Call it boring. That implies an opinion.

Calling it a piece of shit insinuates it's not well made. It is. It really is.

See, I get why people didn't enjoy Pineapple or Iron Man, I really do, even though I loved them both. But I honestly find Crystal Skull almost completely unenjoyable. I've had arguments with old Lucas fans clinging to the scraps of fun available in the Star Wars prequel trilogy - I can honeslty see them convincing themselves that there is joy to be had in Indy IV because they're afraid of letting go.

I was terrified during Dan Aykroyd's ghostly BJ scene!

Don't bring the prequels into this, they raped my eyesockets. And I'm no huge fan of the original trilogy either. I liked them as a small kid but today I'm pretty indifferent towards them. Probably should have put that as an original sin.

Jesus Christ. Not that you deserve it, but I'll try to draw some fire away from you:

The Wrestler is the only Aronofsky film I've seen so far.
