LIFEFORCE. Produced and directed by Michael Bay, because he knows how to shoot astronauts and tits.

I second this. He just needs to find the perfect British broad, and he's in the biz!

Ya see?

What Darkmite said. Some of you dudes are playing with fire here. That being said, I second Slither as a remake of Night Of The Creeps, only because I fucking love that movie to bits.

I didn't know Critters was untouchable.

The Collector, perhaps.
No, Critters was way touchable, but I have to throw in the towel with what Virtanen said about the character design.

Agreed with Dickson...I think its about time for an update to Motel Hell.

I dunno. I think RAZORBACK holds up very well.

I think alot of these hold up very well. As mentioned, a good deal of these are the films they are precisely because of when they were made.
Definitely. The Pieces suggestion is especially peculiar, that film isn't what it is because of some particularly novel concept that needs to be exploited / expanded upon, it's because it's fucking weird, and terrible, and ridiculous, and with the best ending ever. Though anyone who has seen both it and MAY, might have a question or two for Lucky McKee.
The ending in May doesn't really have much in common with that of Pieces outside of the obvious. One makes sense within the movie and the other doesn't.

PROGENY, with a bigger budget and that's about it.

Frankenheimer's Prophecy.

Practically begs for an update.

I dunno. I have a lot of love for that old-fashioned mutant bear suit.

Course it does, but that argument could be made for about 80% of all films remade, let alone horror.

Razorback is a great monster movie that could be given a pretty cool bigger budgeted updating in the vein of a Rogue or something along those lines, and it's got a quirky aussie cultural vibe that could be updated as well.

...and there should be more aussie horror films with giant killer pigs I reckon.

I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of One Dark Night.

I also want remakes of Fright Night and Trick or Treat because then deluxe versions of the originals will be released on DVD to cash in.

This isn't a bad idea. better creature effects ands a slightly less preachy 70's -style tree hugger tone would do wonders for an already very good film, I think.

Do you think in this day and age (of "global warming" and "green") it would be LESS preachy though?

I'd quite like to see someone conjure up a budget and do Dust Devil properly. The film is incredible, but it feels like a prelude. There are ideas and notions which feel like they should have been explored but instead are sort of relegated to mise en scene.

Razorback could be remade, if only to get the movie finally released onto dvd in it's proper OAR and the unrated version as well.

Ok... why has no one mentioned Evilspeak?

Filled with gore and Satanic win. It screams for a re-imaging.

I'm sure Clint Howard would be up for a cameo.
