I'm on several mailing lists for dog rescues and just got an email from one of them that is trying to place some beautiful dogs.

-------

Can you help? They're currently in the Baldwin Park Shelter - a HIGH KILL facility.

4275 North Elton, Baldwin Park, Ca 91706 Phone 626-430-237

Right now he is suffering from kennel cough and is in urgent need of rescue. He is in kennel 401.

A3937074 Happiness is a warm puppy and this 4 month old male German Shepherd mix proves the point! Eager to please, playful, gregarious and smart, he already knows how to sit on command. Dogs are the best.

Here's Blackie, one of mine, who is obsessed with water.

These things get forwarded and some of the formatting gets mangled. I guess I'll edit for readability...

Have any of them been trained to attack black people?

Kristy MacNicol got the last one, and it was tragically driven insane by the awesomeness of Paul Winfield.

A3937074 looks like he will eat you in your sleep, or your kids.

LOL. He looks sweet, just scared. If I didn't have three dogs already, I'd adopt the German Shepherd at the top. What a gorgeous dog!

If someone wants to give me a couple hundred thousand dollars so I can put a down payment on a home in LA, I'd be more than happy to get a dog.

They're on Petfinder, which is probably a better way to find a home than CHUD. Especially for little mangy pit bulls. They're cute but they look like they are in desperate need of veterinary care.

I can't help feeling awful for the family that lost its home and had to give up on the dogs at the same time. Thats horrifying.

I get so many of these emails every day but this one stopped my heart.

If I didn't have 3 (soon to be 4) dogs, I would adopt this poor beautiful albino baby.

So, again, sorry to depress, but if anyone is looking for a dog, this looks like a great best friend.

If you hear of any shelters in the area that recently came across a severely injured maltipoo then I'm interested. Very interested.

Ugh, I want that dog. No room, landlord won't allow dogs, cue me being really, really, really bummed out and hoping that it finds a good home.

Did you lose your dog? Have you tried Petfinder?

It's a cross between a maltese and a poodle. Adorable as the day is long.

That looks like the lovely result of inappropriate double dilute breeding, which anywhere in the southwest will result in a lovely skin cancer along with the poor soul being nervous all the time since he can't see or hear you approach.

There is a reason these pups are usually put down if they are bred (usually accidentally) -- they don't find homes, and they tend to have a high rate of accidental (startle) bites. That's of course, assuming they don't have other major genetic faults.

By the way, he's probably not albino. He's probably double dilute (a mix of two "blue" or other dilute colors) which results in the color pigments being messed up, and they are embryonically related to nervous and sensory development, hence the lack of eyes and the lack of appropriate innervation of the ears.

Poor little thing. The good news is a rescue adopted him, so at least he's not going to be put down.
