Park Chan-Wook is one of a handful of Asian directors I'm familiar with, and having seen (like everyone else) his vengeance trilogy, I wanted to see more. I thought this was decent, though not in the same league as the aforementioned. I did think the issues it delved into about the absurdity of civil war were quite profound, and though it seemed obvious that Yeong-ae Lee was speaking her English phonetically, and not really knowing what she was saying, the rest of the performances (including her when she spoke Korean) were very good.
A lot of great shots in this one too, and it's clear where Park is going from here, in leading up to his other, better films. I'm sure there's some here who've seen this, so other opinions are obviously welcomed.
