Free Watchmen tickets at Best Buy

Best Buy is selling a Watchmen movie pack with two free tickets and some exclusive XBLA content for $25, but it's free if you buy any Xbox Live product, including point cards or the one-month subscription cards. Got four tickets and two months of Live for 18 bucks.

Imagine they'll sell out pretty fast, so buy soon.

Valid at "participating theaters" for up to $24.

Not sure what theaters are participating, though.

If anyone purchases this, let us know what's available.

I've already purchased my midnight ticket, but I'm planning on seeing this on IMAX in Vegas at the Palms IMAX theatre.

hollywoodmoviemoney DOT COM has a list of participating theaters based on zip code. I heavily doubt that IMAX is an option. The exclusive content looks like a behind-the-scenes thing, I haven't watched it yet.

An interesting caveat about the qualifying Best Buy purchase: it works with LIVE points cards, but not with game-branded ones. When I first tried it with a 1600 Point card that had a Fallout pic on it, it did not work. When I next tried it with the standard MS card, it did. Also, I was not charged sales tax on the card; I always assumed you would be.

Not valid at AMC theaters, but pretty much everywhere else. Including the Arclight for us LA folks, which is pretty fucking awesome.

Actually, the standard Movie Money rules may not apply here: an AMC theater came up when I went to activate the tickets, but since I don't know which city I will be seeing this in I didn't proceed any further.

The clip is from the film and it shows (not a spoiler, really, but just to be safe I'll invisotext it)the approach to Veidt's fortress set to the Hendrix version of "All Along the Watchtower". Not the best thing to sell people on the film even if they have read the book. I almost didn't download it since the description indicates that it is a trailer for the Arcade game.

Picked up the free tickets today after getting a 1-month Xbox Live card. Awesome deal - going to see Watchman this weekend.
