Need help in a comic book competition

I wasn't sure if I'd be breaking any rules posting this directly in the comic section so this seemed to be the best spot.

I was accepted for this competition DC Comics puts together. Every month they select 10 contestants to post their webcomics on their site and at the end of the month, the contestant with the most votes gets a contract with DC Comics. Well I got accepted for this month and I am out whorin' for the votes! Here's a link to my comic "Children of Armegeddon":

If I could get anyone's vote, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Voted. You might get more votes if you put it in the Personal Achievements thread, too - I don't think that'd be out of line.

Thanks for the suggestion, James (And the vote).

I'm off to the Personal Achievements thread for additional whoring.

If you win be careful what you sign, if you haven't already given up rights by simply entering.

Thanks Eric. Yeah, the gist of the contract is I keep the copyright to the creation but they get full publishing rights, which I assume means it aint going nowhere unless they release me. Which, honestly, is fine with me. I certainly wouldn't be making what they are offering ($250 an episode for 60 episodes), if I tried this on my own. And I really only wanted to get my artwork out there.

But If I'm given the chance to draw plus work with my own ideas, it's a win win for the moment.

BTW, voted a while ago. Nice work, love your backgrounds in particular.

Thanks, ElCapitan, I really appreciate it. I think I concentrated too much on the background and prop material. The character work seemed to have suffered a little because of it.
I've seen some of your work and it looks very nice. You should consider putting something together for the competition. They have one every month and they do pay a little just for being accepted into the competition.

The backgrounds in your comic puts mainstream stuff to shame. Most times it feels like people are residing in a vacuum instead of a living, breathing world.

great looking stuff Gator, so how do you go about it? pure digital? scanned drawings then worked on the computer?

Thanks, Eric. Hopefully I can keep up the background quality. If I win, I'll probably set a schedule for a webcomic screen update once or twice a week which will give me enough time to keep the background stuff nice and detailed.

The pages are penciled very roughly then inked. Then scanned and colored in Photoshop. I tried my hand at digital inking but it still just doesn't feel right for some reason. Plus the line work comes out looking very shaky. I'm not sure if that's because of the sensitivity of the Wacom pen, but if I ink using the tablet, it comes out looking like a Charles Schultz drawing from is later years.

Thanks again to everyone that voted.
