The Crazies In Hollywood Are At It Again

Brian's article:

Michael Aguilar, Dean Georgaris and Rob Cowan are producing, with George A. Romero on board as an executive producer. Essentially, the big wigs are giving Lord George a big fat payday to stay the hell out of the way creatively on this one.
In which previous remakes of his stuff did he ever get in the way? It's more that this is the first remake of his films (excepting the 1990 NOTLD remake, which Romero scripted) that he has any legal claim to. It's pre-Laurel; Rubenstein is the sole rights holder on everything between Martin and Day of the Dead. Romero's pulling a Wes Craven because for the first time he can.

What happened to Brad Anderson directing this?

Two things about this article pleased me:

1. News of more work for Danielle Panabaker.
2. The phrase "scripting chores."

As long as we don't get a Knightriders remake, I'm good.

On a quick side note, has anyone seen the George Romero documentary Dead On?

Why keep the title? Does anyone know of the original, outside Romero fans?

Because it's a better one than CODE NAME: TRIXIE.

Was it completed?

I believe so. Last I heard they'd been showing it at film festivals and what not. Looks great from the trailer.

At Monster Mania in NJ, Dread Central had bags with the Crazies poster on them, first time I'd seen it, even though it's been online for months. Please tell all your friends that it is not a sequel to My Bloody Valentine. Thank you.

That, or they're looking to differentiate themselves from every other remake/ripoff of The Crazies in films, books, etc etc that we got throughout this decade.

Based on the shooting script, My Bloody Valentine is less formulaic than The Crazies. How sad is that?
