Young Hollywood takes on American Icons

Glamour's 70th Anniversary issue has "2009 young talents" taking on "seven decades of female risk takers, rule breakers and style makers.

Click here to see Lindsay Lohan (as Madonna), Camilla Belle (as Mary Tyler Moore), Emma Stone (as Carrie Bradshaw), Emma Roberts (as Audrey Hepburn), Alexis Bledel (as Rosie the Riveter), Ugly Betty (as Dolores Huerta), Alicia Keys (as Michelle Obama), Elisha Cuthbert (as Brandi Chastain), Hayden Panatroll (as Amelia Earhart), Paula Patton (as Billie Holiday), Chanel Iman (as Althea Gibson) and Odette Yustman, Spencer Grammer and Rumer Willis (as the hippies of Woodstock).

This spread reminded me of the hilariously awful photo shoot of Jessica Alba starring in horror film remakes. So I thought I'd repost those for a laugh or two.

"Ugly Betty". lol

This sort of half ass mediocrity is on par with what I'd expect from a Glamour photoshoot, what with the "WOODSTOCK" sign and all. Because we couldn't really tell that they're supposed to be hippies. But good on them for going out of their way to camouflage Rumer Willis' face.

Carrie Bradshaw in the same league as Amelia Earhart? Seriously. Ugh.

And I find dressing up as the current (as in JUST, BRAND NEW, etc) first lady to be a little weird. Like SNL parody weird. Like "W was nearly too soon to be a biopic, considering he was still in office" weird.

EDIT: Yeah, those Alba pics are laughable.

Horrible.
I have actually seen this idea work, but it helps when the star has some freaking reseblance to the star she is imitating.

I like how they obscured the plain evidence that Elisha Cuthbert is about four cup sizes bigger than Brandi Chastain.

I'm becoming fascinated by the media's continually insistence of Lindsay Lohan. Why is she in this spread? She's no longer in films. She's not even on TV and the music thing is shot. Does she still sell magazines? I can't imagine she does.

Emma Stone. Sarah Jessica Parker.

One of these things is not like the other.

One is a hot young girl, the other is a horse.

I wish I could honestly say I don't want to see more "Lohan as slutty '84 Madonna" pictures. But, alas, I do.

But Lohan looks like a tired 37 year-old trying to imitate 1984 slutty Madonna.

Yeah. Lohan would do a better job imitating the still slutty, yet past her prime 2007 Madonna.

By slutty you mean beef jerkey correct?

Nah, I like beef jerky. How about the term Guy called her, "gristle".

Fuck that Glamour shoot (which is terrible), the Alba photos continue to be awesome. Feel the acting. Feel it.

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure Carrie Bradshaw is a fictional character.

So is Amelia Earhart.

Tell that to a slightly overweight sorority girl and you may be murdered.
