Decided to get the thread for that news item up myself just so I could say...

I LOVE DOUG THE TALKING DOG!!!!!

I wonder how Animated Kirk Douglas and the K9 Army work into this story. I wanna know, but don't wanna find out till I see the movie. Good luck to me.

That trailer was truly wonderful. I want to see more of the dog, that's for sure.

I think I've laughed more at that trailer than I have at any movie so far this year.

That looks like some grand old 40s adventure serial brought to wonderful geeky life.

Out of curiosity, Devin, what keeps The Incredibles from being a 'masterpiece' in your mind? The crypto-Objectivism?
It's a glorious looking movie for sure but so far this will be a BD rental for me. Nothing I've seen from this movie appeals to me, not the story and not the humor. I hope I'm proved wrong though.

Did I miss something here? That link that Devin posted just took me to the original teaser-trailer.

You will be.

Strange. But still, the link should have a list of 3 videos for UP. The first one listed should be the trailer. It's the longest one.

EDIT: I was too late!!!

Yeah at first it just took me to the page with just the one teaser...but it's working just fine right now!

Biplanes vs. zeppelin vs. house?

This trailer and I need some private time together. Yes. Please note the necktie which I am now hanging on the doorknob. Good day.

Looks great, I just hope the kid doesn't become grating.

I'm not sure you do.
"Gotta eat, gotta drink, gotta sleep, gotta poop, gotta eat, gotta pee, scratch my belly, gotta eat, gotta drink, gotta fuck, gotta nap!"

Oh and yeah, the occasional "Squirrel!".

Beautiful. Yep, this looks like a keeper. I've liked all the Pixar films, but I haven't loved one since The Incredibles. Here's hoping this changes that.
Wow I'm really the only one who loved Ratatouile. I absolutely adore Wall E which I know is not popular around here but I was hoping Ratatouille was more respected. Its a brilliant multi-layered and Anton's "review" at the end is a truly fine piece of writing.

I'll take Ratatouille over both Wall-E and The Incredibles. I've always felt the latter was somewhat over-rated.
I think Ratatouillie is about as good as anything that Pixar has done. Which is good, because I wasn't sold on the Ratatouillie trailers and I'm not really digging the trailer to this either. I mean, it looks interesting for sure. Doug is instantly likeable, and the way that big bird communicates tickles me but I'm just not getting a feel for the film yet. Which is fine. Same thing happened with Ratatouillie and Pixar has forever earned the benefit of the doubt in my book (Cars and Monsters Inc aside).

Forget Bolt. Dug for the win.

I like Ratatouille.

This looks really good. I'm curious to see the more adventure-esque bits but honestly I like the idea of the old man, the kid and the dog based on the clips we've seen so far.

I think his name is Dug, not Doug?

Dug, Doug, Dig Dug, who cares?

Edited. I just went with the spelling that first came to mind. I see it as Dug in a few articles that I've read since posting so I'll change it.

"I would be happy if you would stop."

There opening day.

Who said people didn't like Ratatouille? I sure didn't. With the perspective of time, I think it's Brad Bird's greatest movie, even if it's less viscerally awesome than the others. Might even be Pixar's best.

I actually would like to hear Devin's thoughts on Ratatouille. I can't remember what his opinion was at the time, or if he even had one.
Ratatouille is my favorite Pixar movie, for sure. It's so odd.

I'm not sold on the trailer, and the boy scout strikes me as more annoying than anything, but it's Pixar and I'll be there for sure.

I don't think it's perfect, but I LOVE Ratatouille.

I don't think Devin ever said anything about it. Russ did when it came out on video, I think.
