South Park Season 13 - Page 2

Kenny dying at the end was good. The rest sucked.

One young citizen takes it upon himself to maintain order during a time of despair in South Park. An all-new episode of "South Park" titled, "The Coon,” premiers on Wednesday, March 18 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL.

“The Coon” rises from the trash and takes his place as a lone vigilante who wipes out crime in the town of South Park. A rival superhero appears on the scene in the form of “Mysterion” and challenges the Coon’s place as a “symbol” for the town.

Unexpected topic. I think I'll enjoy this.

Amusing ep, especially the first 10 minutes or so.

They should have done more of a take on Jackie Early Haley's character in Watchmen instead of just The Dark Knight.

The episode was okay. Nothing mindblowing

After the initial shock of the Coon joke wore off (not even one reaction from Token? Really?), this episode was just one big missed opportunity. It wanted to parody TDK, The Spirit, and Watchmen and didn't do a good job of getting any of those. In the end, we just got another "Cartman is self-centered" episode.

You mean like the opening narration with the shot from the sidewalk up to the window?
It was middle-of-the-road, I think. The stuff with Prof. Chaos was pretty funny, though.
Oh, and when Cartman came to "rescue" Mysterion, I thought, the "Careful Bruce, they have superhuman strength," line was hilarious.
I really liked it. Got a few big laughs out of me.
It had amusing moments, but is that all we've come to expect from South Park? Amusing moments?

Was this what it was like when The Simpsons started to suck? A bunch of people in denial?
It's probably on a down slope. After thirteen years, it happens. I'm sure when The Simpsons was at its peak, no one ever thought it would be in the creative place it is now (and has been for several years).
South Park hasn't been consistently funny since season 8 IMO. There have progressively been more misses than hits in each season since that one. The writing is just fucking lazy.

That said I thought these first 2 episodes are better than average.
I think the show started to really go down in quality during the season where they had the one two punch of "A Million Little Fibers" and the Al Gore episode. That was like two Frank Grimes episodes in one season.

The Al Gore episode made no sense while I was watching it in early 2006 because "An Inconvenient Truth" hadn't hit yet. It was like making a Dan Quayle joke in 1998.
Every Wednesday, I watch this show, and hope to be entertained.

Every Wednesday, they disappoint me.

They've jumped the shark, folks.

Time to move on.

What was wrong with the Frank Grimes Episode?

And yeah Season 10 was the last truly good season. Except for Imagination land everything since has been totally forgettable.

I thought Frank Grimes was considered the universal break-off point between the Golden Age of the Simpsons and the crap that is on now?

Agreed. I loved this show for so long, but their recent bout of suck coupled with their horribly cocky attitude about their "greatness" compared to every other animated show has only furthered my disinterest in recent seasons.
I see the Armand Tanzarian ep as the break-off. I don't know is SP has had something like that yet. Last nights ep had no laughs in it though.

"I dunno, but to me? It look like Mysterion to me! Everybody who seen Mysterion say 'Yeah!'"

I fucking died when that guy showed up. Fucking hilarious.
Blah, this thread has jumped the shark.
This episode was awesome.

"You think your bullets can hurt him?"

I also love the moment when Mysterion calls Kyle the smartest guy in the class, and it's like he is considering that possibility for the first time.

Watched the episode tonight...ugh

Well, that was the last episde of season 8. That episode is considered the last "good" episodse by a lot of Simpsons purists. So no, that's not considered a bad episode. It's everyhting that comes after bascially.
Really bad episode, but I'd hardly say this show's jumped the shark. I do wish they would get a little less topical, however.
Horrible.
This week's SOUTH PARK: Randy Marsh saves the economy.

I am optimistic.
I don't know (or care) what anyone else thinks, but I thought tonight's episode was pretty great.

"Did someone say, 'catch a Jew?'"
This episode was all over the goddamn place. Not all of it was bad. But, a little control would've been nice to see.

0-3

What was with the Obama thing at the end and what were Matt and Trey trying to say? It made no sense. Obama is getting hammered by the press about the bailouts.
I don't think it meant anything, just Kyle not getting credit.
Dey took err jerbs!

The idea is that Obama will get credit for something that younger generations will have to pay for.
Loved this one. I laughed hard at the offensiveness of the ending pretty well blaming the Jews for the current state of the economy, hence Kyle giving all the bailouts.

Agreed.

"We'll just invest that money in a money market fund and it's gone..."
This episode was fucking fantastic. Surl La Table, hucking squirrels, "consulting the chart".... Best ep since Imaginationland.
The headless chicken bit made me laugh but the rest of the episode was filled with mild amusement.

This was the high point of the episode.

"It's time to stop pointing fingers! Finger pointing gets us NOWHERE... STEVE!"
This episode was pretty funny. Not among their best, for sure, but it was a definite step above the last two episodes. Lots of great bit characters ("annnd IT'S GONE!") and jokes.
Wretched tonight. I usually love the Canada eps unconditionally.
This show needs to be put out of its misery.
Not even an appearance from Randy Marsh could make me chuckle.

I didnt laugh once this episode.
We only laughed at the way the Canucks said Queef, otherwise meh.
I usually like episodes more than most on this board, but that was crap.
I actually laughed at this one a lot, but I tend to think SP is strongest at its most juvenile.

Come on, the Sneezing Unicorn?
Yeah, I'm shocked at this reaction. I loved it.
The Road Warrior ?
The Chinese Fire Cracker?

Butters reaction at getting queefed?
The Road Warrior seals it

I loved it
I gotta say, i think this ep may have been the worst South Park episode I've even seen...even worse than a Million Little Fibers.
Horrid, wretched, ultimately unwatchable.

I didn't laugh once...NOT ONCE!!!
The names of the queefs made me smirk a little bit, but that was it.

Christ, that was terrible.
