Really? She's left me shy of most any reaction short of "oh, my colleague's being assaulted again. I should help."

Come on, its damn funny how when you press the button to switch the camera to you partner, it centers right on her cleavage.

Just got up to chapter 2-2 in co-op. The game is unwieldy as hell, but it's an amazing experience. Pop zombie heads with a sniper rifle, whilst my partner dodges a chainsaw motherfucker was awesome and whilst I don't think it's going to live up to Resi 4's set pieces, few games could, the few bosses and minibosses thus far have been cool as fuck. Dodging out of the furnace, seconds before it went off, was like being in an action movie.

You don't play enough video games.

I agree with Spike. The co-operative makes this a completely different game.

Oddly though, i'm enjoying the single player as it stands.

It's not Resident Evil 4 - but the controls don't really seem to bother me anymore and even the odd swamp had moments. I'm now up to the oil refinery and still not really annoyed by anything.

Peculiar.

EDIT: The temple has gotten the game back on the road to tedious again. Fuckers.

Sorry to revive an ancient thread, but the PC version is finally out this Tuesday, and I'm planning on getting it (tough decision between that, Batmeninges, and Red Faction: Guerrilla). Anyone else? No one I know has a PC capable of running it, and as I understand it, this is a game that almost demands a second person for co-op.

EDIT: I'm actually having second thoughts after reading through this thread. I've played through or watched the first two or three hours of Arkham Asylum twice now due to various circumstances, but is it a better experience overall when compared to this game?

uhhh YES.

Resident Evil 5 sort of sucks, whereas Arkham Asylum is really good.

This shouldn't even be a question. Arkham Asylum.

This is like asking whether you'd like a refreshing Coca-Cola or AIDS.
Well, man, that's pretty definitive. Arkham Asylum it is!

Also, far less racist spear chucking ooga-booga caricatures in Arkham Asylum, for what that's worse.

So how's the new extra missions and shit?

The new dlc isn't very action centric. You fight one new enemy type and only that enemy type for the entire 90 minutes or so and there's only about 6 or 7 of them in the entire episode. The first half is entirely puzzle centric, but it tries, and in my opinion succeeds, at being an atmospheric, recreation of the first game's mansion. There's even an easter egg that lets you play the dlc with the old school fixed cameras. Only tried this for a few minutes, but it's a neat novelty. You unlock the other camera position by trying to open the front door a few times.

You can't save anywhere so you have to beat it in one sitting. It's much more of a survival horror style episode, than action centric. I thought it was worth the five bucks and theoretically the replay is decent because you play it the first time as Chris, but can play as Jill after beating it once and then you could play the whole thing in the old school style a third time. I might play it once more, but that's about it. Ending is anti-climactic. I thought I was failing against the final boss and then it just ended.

The more familiar you are with the original PS1 game, the more likely you are to enjoy this episode.
