Well, my system seems to have a hate for either zombies or Capcom. Got the red ring this morning after 3+ years of the same Xbox. Last game to kill my system? Dead Rising.

When playing co-op you can't move your cursor into the other player's inventory. You have to keep swapping weapons to Chris to upgrade. Very awkward but I guess they don't want your co-op partner to change things.

Yeah, the ending was truly disappointing and unncessarily subdued. Why don't we deserve a more substantial ending to the series, since after this it's all reboot? Damn you, Capcom.

Great game, shitty ass ending.

Just got to Chapter 3, and wow, the "Oh JAPAN" factor of this game is starting to reach into the stratosphere.
Is the game as short as I hear? 13 hrs more or less? Feels like a bit of a shaft considering RE4 was easily 2-3 times as long.
I'm loving this a lot more than I expected to. Once I got used to the controls, things got much better. Definitely more fun with a partner. I'll be down for some co-op so if anyone sees me on, send me an invite.

My friend and I beat it in under 10.

I have a 24" widescreen, and SS was fine on it.

I finished it last night a little over 15 hrs. Not too bad in my opinion but I too was hoping for a longer experience like RE4.
Can't say I agree that RE4 was 2-3 times as long. RE4 was in the upper teens...it wasn't 25-35 hours long.

And much like RE4, RE5 offers incredible replay value. More Mercenaries maps (8 vs. 5 in RE4, and multiple character load-outs), co-op play in both "campaign" and Mercs, and selectable chapters to fine-tune the experience.
The game is just as long as RE4 give/take an hour or so.
Just beat it tonight. A ton of fun. I had rented it for the week, but now I'm considering buying it with my next paycheck. I can see Mercenaries mode fucking with my OCD something fierce.

And I *STILL* need to get some co-op action going. Everyone else on my friend list is always already in a game...

Oh, and the outfit Chris gets after you finish the game? DOUCHETASTIC! I can see myself using it and saying "Huh? What? Huh? FUCK YOU!" as I shoot some zombies.
I'll looking forward to unlocking Sheva's "Tribal" outfit. She gets a Club outfit when you beat the game, but there is an additional outfit that I can only imagine is crazy.

Actually it was.
Yeah, RE4 took me about 25 hrs my first time. My second run was about 18 hrs.

Just rented this bad boy on 360. Anybody feel like playing through some single player Co Op?

... But you game?
Spent the better part of the weekend ill with food poisoning. Mostly in an okay place now. Played this for a bit and found myself seriously engrossed with the game.

Demo left me cold; and I was a bit stubborn about having to put up with 10 year old combat mechanics...but it's turning out to be a fun ride.

I think I'll need to revisit the earlier half of the game to nab the bsaa emblems I've missed so far. Only found my first 3 in act 3.
Finally got this for the xbox360, feel free to send an invite my way Domingo, or anybody else for that matter. So long as you're not gonna be yappin in my ear the entire time.

Same goes for me, if anyone sees me online playing.. lets slaughter Africa together.

Okay guys... say RE4 was a 9/10(I'd give it a 10 but hey that's me), what is RE5 without a live partner?
8.5/ 9 or so. It really is great. From what little I've played of Single Player Sheva is perfectly capable.

A solid 8; Ive played the whole game offline, and the AI partner performed far better than I expected; Sheva healed me when necesary, handed over ammo/items wisely, saved my ass A LOT, and she usually was somewhat context sensitive (for example, she actually sometimes shot an enemy that had me pinned down instead of knocking him off me), lastly, she actually performed far too well on boss fights; my sole gripe was that her AI is awful when it comes to choosing a weapon...as long as she has round for the handgun, she keeps using it, but thats my sole gripe with the AI.
So yeah, its not as perfect an experience as co-op, but far better than Ive seen in other games.
So I guess the demo isn't a good barometer? I played both stages on it, solo and in split-screen, and couldn't get into it nearly as much as RE4.

*edit- Okay okay, I was actually bored as hell. Might be the tension-killer of a teammate.
7. It's only about an 8, 8.5 with a partner. But that's because I think most of the boss fights are boring bullshit, it's too "shooter" at the end with shitty shooter controls and QTE's with more than one person are horseshit.

I had to punch that goddamn rock at the end so many times because we were apparently just too goddamn efficient for the fucking game to keep up. Fuck, man. I mean, a QTE to absolutely WRECK a boss is great, just look at some of the epic swaths of destruction from God of War. But to not know you have to do one because you're capping the ever loving shit out of a boss, only using all 80 rounds of sniper ammo and over 150 rounds of pistol ammo, only to find out you could have ended it just by running at the fucker and pounding on the square button? Fuck you, man. Let me fucking know by putting a blazing fucking symbol on the guy if I have to cinema kill a bitch.
This might be some hate dripping over from MSG4, but GOD DAMN I HATE HATE HATE the coy looks, the slow mo kung fu and absurd "Japaneseness" of this game. I figured the stuff with Irving was a fluke, but Wesker was an annoying bitch at the end.
I'm only a few chapters in and it seems like I'm basically always struggling for ammo. After that 2nd chapter boss I'm completely empty except for a few clips of rifle ammo and shotgun shells. Am i doing something wrong or is it just the way game is?

You guys must have gotten lucky with your partner AI. Ive basically had to strip Sheva of all weapons besides a pistol. She thinks every weapon if a sniper rifle and wasted nearly an entire clip of shotgun ammo into the armored side of a boss.
Haven't had any ammo shortages but I always play co-op. The boss fights are a little on the easy side thus far and repetitive but it doesn't hinder the experience for me. Besides easy-boss fights seem to be the norm nowadays. I may end up preferring this to RE4 just because I hated always having to be protecting that useless little twat in RE4. Sure it upped the tension, and the sniping bits were awesome but fuck that...

Buy the cattle prod, make it your bread and butter. Kills most regular enemies in 1 hit. I've actually been running around in CO-OP lately just tasering guys and collecting a stockpile of ammo for bosses/single player.
I'm at the final boss fight. I hate this fucking thing, but I have to finish it, at the very least.
Is Wesker giving you trouble? I find it hard to believe any of the bossfights giving people grief, except maybe the first Jill/ Wesker encounter.
The final fight was a much bigger pain in the ass than the initial Jill/Wesker fight.
My wife was watching me play, and I was getting so frustrated that for about 30 minutes straight I just shot Jill with the Magnum right off just to watch her die. My wife told me that I hate women.

It's terrible! My partner keeps saying "I've got a warhead!" and then I run over there and she starts plugging away at Wesker. LOAD THE FUCKING THING!
I finished the game last night with a friend (two player the whole way through). We got Final-Wesker with our last goddamn bullet. That was kind of awesome. "Do... not... miss!"
I'm amazed anyone had trouble at all with final wesker. You guys did shoot him in the back, right?
He took forever to die. The globe would appear in his back, then move to the front, then back, etc. So we'd both take opposite sides of Wesker and shoot the globe when it appeared. Trouble is, we were low on ammo going into the volcano stage, and it took forever to actually take him down.
Hmm... Well I didn't personally have a problem. Ammo was low but I had enough, his attacks were also weak sauce. He couldn't have hit me in his dreams, even with my broken ass controls.
Getting hit on the final platform was never much of an issue. We were worried about ammo stores, not health. I think we had three first aid sprays going into the level and we didn't use one of 'em.

I will say we had to replay the opening moments -- Chris moving the boulder, Sheva holding on -- 20x times because I was something of an invalid as Sheva. "Oh, wait. It's showing me the distracting camera angle 'cause I'm the one who's supposed to hit Wesker first." On our first run-through, Chris managed to trigger the Wesker-freaks cinema before I even crossed the boulder, so we figured that was how it was supposed to be done.
I will admit it took me about four tries to finally get the boulder right. HATE those stupid sections. Awesome in RE4, lame here.
Speaking of, I've never actually played Resident Evil 4. How weird is that?
I thought RE4 had a more epic feel than this one has. But I like the weapons here more.
The final-form Wesker is actually really really easy if you know what to do. For instance, you do not have to shoot him to death. When the orb is on his back, unload enough shots at it to make him do that tornado tentacle spin move that he does, and as soon as he starts to stand up run at his back and hit the prompt - Sheeva will run in and promptly fuck his shit up by brutally stabbing his orb, then Chris takes his turn stabbing the shit out of the other orb in an orgy of blood and tentacles... and oh it's game over.

Of course, if you can't get the boulder down in time you're out of luck anyway.

The Wesker missle fight is vastly harder if your partner isn't doing what you need them to do.
The Veteran difficulty is much more fun. Enemies actually run at you en masse and you need to have your reload speed upgraded.
You can kill Wesker just by shooting him?

We did.

It's annoying that there was such a simple solution, as I made a point to run up behind him a few times to see if there was a command I was missing, but no indicator popped up.

What I did to beat him was walk up behind him and hit him with the stun gun in the back. Then, after he did the tornado thing, I just gunned his ass down by shooting him in the chest. Rinse and repeat.

Thanks for the heads up. That cattle prod is ridiculous. Almost like its cheating.
