See, this is what happens when memes are allowed to just keep on going. I guess we can look forward to Treasurer Rick Astley.

I can't vote for a guy who uses the phrase "muster the gumption".

Wow, Judas, you and I were practically neighbors.

Like you I lived in the 'burbs near Spring. The subdivision (cue RUSH reference) was called Woods of Wimbledon. It was near Champions Forest, South of F.M. 1960 and North Oaks Mall. I lived there from 1981 - 1985 and attended Klein Forest High School...

...and being from the northeast, hated living there. Moving to lOs Angeles was like a breath of fresh air.

Congratulations , Bancroft, for reminded us that the Right does not have a monopoly on wack political opinions.
As for Chuch, secession worked out REAL great for Texas the last time it was tried.

What exactly did you find "wack"? My knowledge of history, the fact that Texas is a potential brushfire of social, racial and economic tension waiting for a match with a budding Narco State on its border, that this nation is awash in a mass of right wing hysteria over illegal immigration and Texas is the primary entry point/focus of it or that I would find a new Republic of Texas with Pres. Chuck Norris awash in a civil war funny as hell?

I'd still like to keep Austin though. Maybe it can be our West Berlin?

And it sounds like I'm exaggerating but I'm not - it was kinda eerie.
Like Greg, I had a similar experience with Oklahoma...right as I-35 hits the border, it goes from a 4 lane with divider and median to this 2 lane piece of shit and, JUST TO DISTRACT YOU FROM HOW HORRIBLE IT LOOKS...WHAMMO, there's a casino!

'America First' indeed, Mr. Mcain supporter..

Why is it that I get the feeling Bruce Lee would have kicked Norris and voted for Obama?

It's coastal. These lunatics probably think secession means Texas gets to actually, you know, leave the Union. To float somewhere in the Atlantic, I presume.

It's just funny how right-wingers are so quick to threaten secession yet would never risk losing all that $ they get from the government, not to mention the socialized health care we call medicare and medicaid, oh and the government-funded border patrol, and the subsidies for drilling, etc. We should just call their bluff, take in anyone with sense who thought it would have been a bad idea to begin with, and leave the rest to fend for themselves. Probably wouldn't be 2 minutes before Hugo Chavez rang up Gov Perry on the phone...

I wouldn't get to worked up about that rally. I'm guessing it wasn't too well attended, since it didn't even cause an influx in traffic today (and I drove right past the capitol on the way to work).
