This book is fucking great. I'm three trades in, does it eventually shit the bed or what? I can only assume they have an entirely new crew in MCU by the end of the series considering how fast these guys drop.

It doesn't shit the bed, it just didn't have enough readers to go on. It is great.

I liked Half A Life a whole lot. Probably one of my favorite trades I've ever read (though, I haven't read many).

I love this series. The only flaw with it is that the last few issues tie into Infinite Crisis.

It and Planetary are my two favorite series in comics. So good. The second issue where the detective is describing what it's like for the GCPD to see the Batsignal -- that's one of those moments where you're like "well, why hadn't I thought of THAT" before?

Favorite arc is probably "Soft Targets." "Half A Life" would be a runner up.

I actually just bought trades 2 & 3, again, yesterday.

This series is amazing. Of course, the completist in me is annoyed that the trades skip over certain issues for no discernible reason.

I've read just the first few issues, the Mr. Freeze story, and I found them completely unremarkable. Which was disappointing, because I like the concept and had heard good things. So, I didn't care for the first story, but will I likely feel different about the rest?

It's one of the best series's that i've read from DC and i think its the best thing that Brubaker has put his name to which is saying something (Queen and Country is still Rucka's strongest work). I also liked how the book was written with them having their own respective shift, simple but brilliant idea.

I read Rucka's Crisis mini recently and was gutted to see what they had done to Montoya and Allen since this book. It seemed to cheapen them in a way.

Cool to see that they're bringing out those lovely hardcovers for this title. I just wished they'd done it sooner.

It's weird that Rucka would write such bad stuff for characters he made interesting. I think he preemptively ruined them before DC could, like George killing Lennie in Of Mice and Men.

They're doing hardcovers for these? Hmm, maybe I'll wait on picking up the rest of the trades. Hopefully the hardcovers will be complete. I didn't know the trades were skipping some issues.

The series is relatively recent, so if you're really obsessed, the individual issues might not be too hard to track down.

I made the mistake of reading these a little after seeing the Dark Knight. They treat the whole Batman mythology in a more interesting fashion, and Dark Knight ended up suffering in comparison. I would suggest that it'd be an interesting place to take the movie series after Nolan's done, though it'd make a better TV show if done right.

It was almost a WB TV show. They wanted to do it as a Homicide-like procedural, but movement on Batman Begins killed it.

Well, the WB part makes it sound like a dodged bullet, but it still would've made a nice show for a different network, like AMC or FX.
