So tragic. Nothing but condolences to the family, and I hate even the thought of a mother having to bury her child.

But I hate TMZ with every fiber in my being. Fucking vultures.

This thread started to meltdown immediately, and the story is just so tragic in its simplicity, but I have to defend the attacks at those using humor (attempted or otherwise) as a method of commenting on such events. There were some terrible posts, yes, but I've witnessed threads on these boards that were beautiful confluences of information, commentary and yuks and they dealt with the horrors of real life in a unique, if not wholly successful, manner.

I still laugh at Ripoll's "Virginia Tec-9" joke, and some of the zingers about that Amish shooting were great, but the threads also contained thought-provoking discussions. Granted, this is not one of those threads, but I felt like I should say my piece since this tasteless idiocy is hardly unprecedented.

I wish you guys would be this intolerant of dumb, repetitive jokes in threads that aren't about celebrities dying.

Get a grip, weirdo.
Just a guess, but I'm pretty sure no-one in this thread wanted Natasha Richardson to die.

I don't understand how you cannot care about whether someone lives or dies. Regardless of whether or not you knew them.

Frankly, this thread is the kind of shit I expect from places like AICN, I really expected better from CHUD.

And if some of the humor was aimed on the horrid reporting of this story, then it was a shitty effort because no one seemed to realise then except the posters.

Why? The precedent for this kind of nonsense has been set for years. Every time a fool like Slater shows up in a thread and makes a obvious, tasteless joke and people fawn all over him it's clear that that sort of thing flies here.

Yeah, there's been worse jokes made when other celebs have died.

Can't believe Quebec has no medevac system.
Yes there is.
Air medevac?
Yep. But it's less used than Ontario I think.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services confirmed Quebec has no helicopter air ambulance system.
Quebec has a transport plane ambulance system, but it is apparently used to only travel long distances, probably to reach the northern parts of the province.
There is a private air ambulance which is difficult (and expensive) to access.

I'm not criticizing here, but if there is something positive to come out of this it might be an integration of choppers into the system. Canadian provinces are so huge, with patients sometimes having to travel from province to province for treatment, this should be mandatory.

Well then that's the private one I knew about then.

How old are their kids? Rick Moranis retired from acting due to losing his wife. Sounds selfish, but I hope Liam continues to perform in spite of this terrible tragedy. Twould be a shame to lose him. I imagine this may effect LINCOLN's schedule?

As someoene who has lost a family member in an accident, the whole situation's unfortunate.

I think the oldest is only 12. This is a real tragedy, and the worst thing is that her death probably could've been prevented if they had better transportation to get her to the hospital sooner. Hopefully some change will come out of this.

Either way tho, considering the age of his kids, as much as a massive Neeson fan as I am, I don't think anyone could begrudge the guy stepping away from film and stage to look after such young kids as his.

Fuck us as film lovers, his kids are really, really going to need their Dad for the next 8-10 years at least.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I agree with this especially after finding out how old his kids are. It's a shame all around.

My wife was channel surfing and passed by MAID IN MANHATTAN this weekend, during a Richardson scene. Weird reminder.

Bullshit. She refused to go the hospital immediately after the fall, as requested by the authorities. She waited an hour before having headaches, and decided to go.

But hey, let's do like this retard and blame the Canadian healthcare system!
