Online merchandise screenprinting and/or embroidery

I figure there's gotta be some Chewers out there that have had T-Shirts made. I know CHUD's got an online store at Cafepress (PLUG!). Is this my best/easiest/most profitable option online? How's the quality and lifespan of the product? I'm looking to get some shirts (Tees and/or polos maybe), hats, and a few other things that strike my fancy up online, available for sale very soon. I believe the art's ready to go for the most part.

Any advice in this arena? Horror stories? Warnings? Recommendations?

Note: I find it odd that Cafepress doesn't want vector art (scaleable art with no loss in quality). Is this common for online vendors?
