That's what I was thinking. My brother was like "teh omgz!" and is going to pre-order the Prestige Edition.

I've been checking out some gaming blogs and from the comments there noted the night vision goggles can't even be considered a first generation NVG (current versions in the market are 3rd gen).
They're actually IR cameras not unlike the night vision features on your standard video cameras these days and not as good as the lenses on your video camera is actually larger and can see more. The ones on the goggles are almost the size of pinholes.
It's probably why they can sell the whole pagkage at $149. Tell your brother to take that into consideration. Unless he wants it for a cosplay or something...

I don't really know what he wants them for, probably to finally begin his international jewel theifing career.

So why is the Hardened edition $80? Making a bold step forward in the art book/steel case arms race?

Yeah, seriously. That Game Informer rag had Uncharted 2 on their cover months ago. With a game as big as this, you think there'd be some more. I know for a lot of people this is the game they're waiting for. We need more info!

As far as perks go, I hope there are more useful ones. I only found two or three of them to be worth a damn. I'm hoping for some radically different ones, too.

I think we need to see a way wider range of weapons and a greater level weapons customization as well. At least as far as attachments go, even if it only altered the look of the gun, I'd be fine with that. Get some licensed Magpul products or something. And, ya know, the M4 is great and all, but I wanna see a FN SCAR in there!

And how about more than ONE map pack, guys?! It'd be awesome if they made real world maps. For instance, if they made a huge Mogadishu map, I'd would cry sweet tears of joy.

The one thing I ask for is yes obviously some more varied perks that actually could be used...does anyone use the bomb defusal one...but mostly its realistic upgrades to the weapons. Does it really make sense to put an acog scope on a light machine gun? that annoyed the shit outta me.

I slapped ACOG scopes on my pump shotgun in R6 Vegas all the damn time. Sometimes it's just funny to put things on incompatible things.

Let's see..... Take a powerful ass gun + being able to see far with it = more dead guys + Live bitching. Yeah, ACOG FTW!

Truth be known I use the grip on my LMG's but I don't see a problem with it. How about people who use them on scorpion's or uzi's? I say whatever gives you maximum kills is OK with me. It's all about the RAMPAGE!!

There's multiplayer footage online, Alex'll be enlightening y'all with it shortly i'm sure - but i'm too buzzed after seeing all that awesomeness to restrain myself.

Fuck yeah. Looks awesome. Custom killstreak loadouts or something, AC130 gunships (ergh, that's going to hurt) and surface-to-air missiles. Also, semtex! Wooo!

A google search for modern warfare 2 multiplayer footage will yield immediate results. I'm not linking because I feel bad enough pipping Alex or Trev to the post on this. They're probably having a nap.

I hope no one was banking on the 18-35 year old gamer demographic for anything important that week. Cause it ain't getting fucking done.

Do these games have a big PC following? Just no way I can really enjoy a first person shooter like this on my X-Box..

Well, if you haven't learned to enjoy console FPS's yet, you should probably make that a priority. Since so many 360 and PS3 games use a basically identical control scheme you're probably missing out on a lot.

I've tried, oh I've tried. I guess I'm just part of the generation that was PC trained.

For me, playing a FPS on a console is not as fast, fluid and accurate then it is on a PC, give me a keyboard and mouse any day.

I believe both the 360 and PS3 support keyboard/mouse input (and you can get customized set ups tailored for gaming), but I have no idea what the individual game support is for those things.

I just hope the single player experience is as mesmerising as the first Modern Warfare. You competetive online multiplayer guys can suck it (not that I'm bitter because I can't keep up or anything. No sirree, not me! Not bitter at all!).

The earlier trailer was pretty generous with the storytelling aspects. I'd imagine it'd be more of the same - epic setpieces and glamorous locales. Respawning enemies aren't making a return though.

I'm with you Singer. I'm hoping to diversify into the MW2 multiplayer eventually, but the campaign is what has me excited about this game.

I enjoyed both aspects of COD4, and I hope they keep the balance for MW2. I was never a great MP player, but I could hold my own. Occasionally I sucked, and occasionally I was very dangerous. But usually I was middle of the pack on a good team or a bad one.

The game looks quite good. Neither SP or MP needed a lot of maintenance. Add some options, fine tune the experience, consider co-op, and done.

No shit. I've been telling myself I'm only going to take 11.10 off from work. I'm afraid that's going to spill into 11, 12, 13 also.

I'm definitely calling off work a day or two...even if i don't get paid for them.

I haven't really done that since Halo 3. When that happened i had my middle aged, no gaming female co-workers tease me about and even get newspaper clippings about the games release. I'm curious if this will get their attention as much as Halo.

I love the A130 killstreak perk now, but I know I'm gonna hate it when it's used against me later.

Upgrade it with either the PS3 Service pack or the 360 External game console. I hear those are easy to use and work really well for games.

Infinity Ward just announced they will be releasing 2 map packs this go around.

I guess it's better than one but I hope they don't pull any reskins like they did on 4.

True. Chinatown was the worst of the lot in the DLC.

Not a lot. Mostly Seagal movies... Lots of La Blue Girl, which is weird... Amazed they're not out of business, really.

I can't wait for MW2 (gotta love the customizable kill streak rewards!)....sidenote, has anyone downloaded the new map pack for World at War? Treyarch gets a lot of shit but I think they did a pretty damn good job with their map packs. And cliche or not, the zombie boards are really fun with some friends.

Infinity Ward announced they have no plans for a public beta. Bummer.
