Last night I was playing Skidrow on TDM and hit an 8-kill streak. Rushing to the original spawning point for the Spetsnaz, I signaled for an emergency airdrop, making sure that I placed the smoke right in the middle of the street.

Alas, in what amounted to the most hilarious yet frustrating moment for me thus far in MP, ALL FOUR packages landed on the adjacent roof.

Damnit.

I should be on later today (MST in US) if anyone wants to play.

Yeah, I do the same thing.

Some dipshit yelling, some crappy music full blast, or some major buzzing feedback bullshit. I tend to mute all of that crap too. I was talking more in the case of playing a Spec Ops mission.

Plus it takes away from the AWESOME surround sound.

I can't wait to get into Spec Ops, though. Promised my best friend I'd wait til he got his PS3 fixed in a few weeks so we can hit it up together. Don't know if I can hold out.

So I finally got that stinger missile. I shot down a harrier and and enemy recon drone. That's going to be a fun toy. I only wish that I didn't have to give up a secondary weapon to have it, but I'll make the best of it.

Mixed with Cold Blooded makes you invisible to the bad guys up there, unless they're being controlled by a player. Those ones still see you.

They still see you - but doesn't it remove the red "marker" box - making it harder to spot you from the AC130?

When I look at the killcam from the apache, I can see me running around trying to hide, so I assume it's the same for the AC130 and the predator missile. I usually just start hiding out when I see that crap show up.

I'm going to hope for a game with the ac130 and see if I can get past the flares with the missile. I think that you have to shoot two missiles fast back to back to defeat the flares or have someone else on your team fire one right after you do.

It can be used on aircraft. Though in real life I believe it's solely anti-tank.

It's fine, though the matchmaking and games can keep dropping out according to a friend of mine. He has also run into hackers already. Something that's no doubt rarer on the consoles.
You know something is amiss when a guy scores a headshot with a shotgun from half a map away with a 70-1 killrate.

Yeah, that can be a pisser. I don't know if I see that much of that on the PS3. Sometimes I killed when I think I already unloaded into someone, but I usually just figure that it is lag on my part and he already got me before I even pulled the trigger.

What is it with Domination and Skidrow? It seems to suck away the little intelligence that these players have. Time after time, everyone just piles up at B and pretty much ignores the other 2 points.

It's a badly designed map that makes you run the longest routes if you don't go for B.

It also rewards you for finding a nice sniping spot and just battering people there from a rooftop.

Though I don't mind rewarding snipers. I just hate the layout of this map.

In fact with the exceptions of Rundown and Highrise, there are no other maps that I really love.

EDIT: I hope one day they'll have the original COD4 maps for download, along with the all new map packs.

I've been taking all of my old COD4 frustrations out in MW2. I'm using that stinger and blasting everything out of the sky. I bagged an AC130 tonight. Pave Lows, UAV drones, harriers, they're all coming down. That was a lot of fun. Those damn helicopters were always getting me in MW1 and I could never hit them with the damn RPGs. That stinger is a beautiful thing.

I hate having to give up the second weapon, as I have nothing to swap to when I am low on ammo on my primary.

Terminal's great because there are only one or two really rewarding sniping spots, and it doesn't take much to figure out how to remove them from play (usually a knife in the back).

It's also got plenty of cover, a truly evil placement for the HQ on the plane and a lot of great close quarters moments in the shops.

AFGHAN is without a doubt the worst map. No cover. Terrible placement of domination and HQ points, very sniper-friendly and awful paths to get to destinations. It's a map i'll leave a server for if it comes up.

Awesome deal. I'm anxious for MW1 to go down in price. That game's still around $50.

Dan, I agree that Terminal is awesome. Probably my favorite Domination map. Like you, not a big fan of Afgan.

Electrichead, I've taken pride in shooting the shit out of killstreak rewards. Nothing escapes my Stinger's wrath, as long as I'm alive. Can't wait to unlock the title for shooting down 250 with Cold Blooded equipped. Don't know what it is, but I'm excited for it.

It's stupid, but they were clearing out a few close quarter Domination rooms (Quarry, Skidrow) and sniper haunts by running in and suiciding. They didn't end up with a good kill score or win the match, so I don't see the attraction.

Regarding maps, I've had a few decent matches on Afghan. Agree about the lack of cover and if there's too many snipers it's a waste of time, but I haven't been too irritated by it yet.

Favourites so far are the sub-base and Derail, really hate Favela.

Just watched those Youtube glitch videos; how the fuck do they 'discover' stuff like that?

The attraction is grief'ing pure and simple. And how can you not like Favela? You can literally jump from a rooftop through a doorway or window and knife someone a'la Jason Bourne. It's heaven.

Eh, Favela is ok. I kind of wish it were twice the size with maybe one more open "kill zone," but I've had some fun games on it.

I don't really care for Afghan either, but oddly I seem to do really well on it.

Rust, while fun, is no Shipment. I want my chaotic, tiny map, shotgun-centric Headquarters match, damn it!

The FAL with silencer + holographic is pure win. I loved the G3 in COD 4, so it's right up my alley.
