Letting Frank Black produce the new Art Brut album was certainly an great choice. Their It's a Bit Complicated was a good album, but certainly not as catchy, memorable, or quotable as their first album. Frank Black brings a good, clean rock sound to the band, that's very, very reminiscent of his first few solo albums. If you enjoyed Teenage of the Year, or Black's self-titled album, you should be guaranteed to like this.

While I appreciated the band's effort to appear a bit more mature on Bit Complicated, I have to admit that I enjoy their return to signing about music, relationships for the immature, and comic books. How many bands can get you singing along so easily about The Replacements, or DC Comic books? Or pump out such funny (and mildly true?) lyrics such as "The record buying public shouldn't be voting"? It's a nice little stab at the indie music crowd, while still being some of the best sing-along lyrics from any of today's best indie crowds.

It'd be nice to see a song or two of their's end up on the Scott Pilgrim movie's soundtrack.
