Some scifi/cyberpunk GN recommendations

Thread Starter
Well the title says it all really. I'm looking for recommendations on some of the best sci-fi comics and graphic novels with a particular concentration on dystopic cyber-punk. I've never called myself a fanboy, but I really love Judge Dredd and so I'm looking for stuff that's in that vein, or even GN answers to Blade Runner or Gibson.

Any help?

The two I can think of right now are: The Filth and Transmetropolitan.

A lot of things fall into that category, except that it's mostly anime and I know nothing about that. The Filth and Transmetropolitan are good places to start, and Batman Year 100 isn't too bad either. If you've been reading the actual Judge Dredd title you should check out Astro City.

One of the designers from FUTURAMA, Dave Cooper's SUCKLE and CRUMPLE. Both are more "Cronenberg meets R. Crumb"ish than the cyberpunk BLADERUNNER or NECROMANCER, but they are weird and twisted (and funny and thought-provoking) little scifi tales, and are each self-contained. Warning ADULT.

These and some of Jodorowsky's comic work like Technopriest and along with the art of Moebius The Incal.

You might enjoy Cybernary from Image, though there have been a couple of incarnations, and some of them were split issues with other books. I can't comment on anything beyond the early ones in Deathblow, which were kind of creepy/sexy.

Marvel UK's Death's Head II was pretty awesome to my teenage eyes when I was reading it in the early '90s.

Transmetropolitan is pretty much the go-to cyberpunk comic (which is now reminding me, I still haven't read it in its entirety) but there's also Ellis's current series, Doktor Sleepless. It hits some of the same beats, but there's some interesting and different stuff lurking in the background. I almost feel like it's still too early to pin it down, even though there's a TP collection's worth of issues already.

"Honour among punks" - Not cyber but definitely punk. This has been on my amazon wishlist for a few years now, just haven't got around to buying it yet. Everything that i've read seems to point to the positive and it just sounds really cool to me.

The Fourthrail review.

Adam Warren is a known cyper-punk comic writer. I've only read his Marvel work, the Livewires digest was pretty good and i got it off amazon markeplace brand new for under £4.

I'm a big fan of Paul Pope's work. Heavy Liquid and 100% along with the already mentioned Batman Year 100 are worth looking into.

Or you could go really far back and check out Kirby's OMAC--cyberpunk before cyberpunk was technically invented.

I know a lot of people are down on Hard Boiled, but I love it dearly.

This and Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot are worth owning for the art alone.

The Originals is a cool retro sci fi comic book created by the artist of Watchmen, Dave Gibbons.
