Oh so pretty- http://chud.com/articles/articles/18...-IN/Page1.html

I really dug the first game for what it was, so I'm definitely looking forward to this one.

What did you think the first one was, Rhiveehyo? I liked the idea and the look of the world, but trying to advance in that game was painfully dull. Cavorting around was fun (game needed Saints Row 2 style on-line co-op something fierce), but got old after 4-5 hours. The missions were all dull as shit -- break the barricades ... again.

As I reflect on this ... all of my problems with the game would have been fixed with on-line co-op!

Let's put it this way- I picked it up for 10 bucks, and thought it was worth every dollar. There's not much to it but it was a very fun game while it lasted. If they could change up the gameplay a bit and added some new features (co-op would be fantastic) they could definitely have something here.

Those screenshots are stunning. I never played the first one, so how does it look compared to these new pics?

The first was a had great looking environments and shitty character models and ugly ass vehicles. This looks MUCH prettier on all fronts.

And I agree with Overlord. Initially the game was great but after 8 hours I quit playing. All the missions were super dull and all I ever wanted to do was skydive and parachute around. I had no interest in actually completing the storyline. But I too bought it for cheap, something like $8.99 used so it was worth that money.

I would not rush out to get it by any means though unless you sorely missed the parachute in GTA 4.

Which I did and was the reason I then picked up Just Cause.

Horrible, horrible missions, but good sandbox fun. I just looked up the sequel, again, no co-op?

Completely pass until it hits bargain bin land. I'd say I got my six or seven bucks of value from one marathon 5 hour play session of the first one (no urge to progress in game at all), and sadly, I suspect more of the same.

Saints Row 2's co-op feature has raised the bar considerably.

Just Cause really is an underrated little gem and I've been looking forward to this sequel for at least 18 months.

I'm pretty sure this was a CHUD favourite shortly after it came down in price.

I loved it initially - it looked great, but i'll echo most sentiments - it suffered from seriously sucky sandbox syndrome. It could be tedious and some of the missions, whilst inspired in idea - were painfully executed.

It was the studio's first game, i'm willing to give them benefit of the doubt.

Now create an epic derail about STALKER.

The thing with Just Cause is that its moments of bliss (sky diving, flying jets, liberating cities, fighting inside volcancos, using your grappling hook in insane ways) were often negated by some truly terrible elements (trying to takeover military bases, finding yourself stranded on foot in the jungle, your general on foot controls)>

Great thing about STALKER was the atmosphere and the lack of knowledge regarding what was coming next.

You knew exactly what was coming up in Just Cause because it had just happened in the previous mission.

Damn I love STALKER.

This was probably my biggest complaint. There was a mission that involved me having to infiltrate some douchebag's Club Med resort and assassinate him. I ended up having to chase this asshole on foot up mountains, culminating in me capping his ass a good mile or two from any kind of road. I then had to huff it all the way back just to call in a pickup from the chopper.

Other than that, I enjoyed the parachute aspect immensely and am looking forward to at least renting this.

Same thing happened to me with that mission and it was at that point I decided I just didn't enough of a fuck about the story to contine playing mission that could be that aggravating.

After that it was all about occasional half hour sessions of skydiving and fucking around in between other games.

The year of Sandbox heaven?

I liked the 1st Just Cause (played it on X-box1) and loved the whole weather system as you could see storms off in the distance, fly above for a nice crisp blue sky.

Plus sky diving never got old.

Is Larry Fishburne playable?
