"Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman Loera reported head of the Sinaloa cartel in Mexico, ranked 701st on Forbes' yearly report of the wealthiest men alive, and worth an estimated $1 billion, today officially thanked United States politicians for making sure that drugs remain illegal. According to one of his closest confidants, he said, "I couldn't have gotten so stinking rich without George Bush, George Bush Jr., Ronald Reagan, even El Presidente Obama, none of them have the cajones to stand up to all the big money that wants to keep this stuff illegal. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say, Gracias amigos, I owe my whole empire to you."

Everyone needs to read Don Winslow's Power of the Dog which deals with just this subject.

The people of Mexico can conquer their own personal El Chapo, who also happens to be the actual El Chapo.

El Chapo's quote pretty much sums up one of the reasons why we're our own worst enemy.

There is a famous quot from someone, I forget who, that goes " No one ever won a war, by making their enemies rich."

It totally stupid.

the Next drug war is going to be cigarettes. The economy is so bad, and tobacco taxes are so high, that smuggling and fright Jacking( just think about how much money is invested in one truck loud of cigarettes) is now quit profitable.

I don't know about you guys, but I think this whole fright jacking epidemic is horrifying.

"El Chapo" went on to say:

Quote:
I think I'll double the shipments of cocaine to America next year, and then again the year after that until the cocaine flows like a river in your pathetic country. And your government can't stop it, you see cocaine can buy anything and anyone at anytime that I want.
What a stranglehold he has on us.

Sean Penn interviews El Chapo - http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/features/el-chapo-speaks-20160109

Forget the numerous ethical lapses; the real crime of that article is Penn's awful writing. WOOF.

@mattzollerseitz if only Chapo could've hidden in The Gunman, he would've never been found.

And of course, El Chapo gets caught because of that interview.

Seven years is a long time to wait, but I'll let you know that I did, indeed, LOL.
