Southland - Page 2

So, anybody watch the season 2 premiere on TNT last night? The only part I didn't like was John giving Chickie the cold shoulder over something he encouraged her to do in the season 1 finale.

Liked the premiere. Hope TNT decides to keep it.

I don't know if I'm misremembering or not, but the show feels a ton more confident than I remember it. Tighter.

I agree. I missed the premiere but the episode this week was pretty good, if not relentlessly grim.

Does anyone know if TNT had them make more than the six episodes NBC produced?

No, they're waiting to see how these 6 do before greenlighting more.

Pretty damn good finale. Really like this show, I've even gotten over my dislike of the "beeps" for the bad language.

Really glad they took a show off from the one detective with the insane wife.

Anyone still watching? The show is really stepping it up. John leaving Dewie at the 7-11 with the lady cop was hilarious, so was the scene witht he Mariachis.

After such a downer of an episode nice to see them stay consistant with the downer ending.

Really enjoying this season. Love the new asshole lady detective and the fisticuffs at the crime scene.

I'm still watching, though this last episode seemed like an eyeroll inducing after school special on race.   Love Cudlitz in this, dislike Regina King as she seems WAY too earnest.  The 7-11 bit was the highlight of the episode for me.

As good as this show is it's a real fucking downer. I mean I realize it's supposed to be grim and realistic but damn.

I like that they may be getting rid of the one Detectives annoying wife. But I don't like the way they are handling Lydia's ex-partner.

What.The.FUCK.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I can't believe Detective Nate got clubbed to death like that. Holy fuck. That scene was fucking intense.

Agreed - that came out of nowhere.  The aftermath was even worse, with the group surrounding him.  Jeebus.  Probably the best episode of the series so far.

Why are you guys spoiler texting everything? The episode has aired and there has been a repeat or 2 already. I think it's fair game.

It was a very intense ending to the episode. This show has real balls. I expected Nate's death to be a result of his partner always being on the phone with his wife. Not a beat down like that. And the crying scene at the end...holy crap that was heartbreaking.

What I wonder is how much longer Ben is gonna take all that shit from John before he snaps and squeals about John's back problems and the drugs he takes for it.

Laughed out loud when they revealed the guy Lydia was gonna go out with was her Partners son.

Pretty damn good finale. I knew as soon as Sammy started talking about going back to being a Patrol Officer he was gonna end up as Ben's partner. The rooftop fight was pretty great. And so was the way Lydia's partner found out about Lydia and her son.

This has become one of my favorite shows on TV.

Wow - those scars on Lydia's partner's face healed up quickly.   Though not quite as strong as the s2 finale ("*I'm* a cop!") I also dug it.  Rumor has it this show is coming back for a fourth season, which I would gladly welcome.  Rooftop fight was great...I'm not sure if it's the way that they're all shot, but Southland has the best action sequences of any tv show I can remember.  The thing that made me notice this show was a s1 car chase where they were chasing burglarly/murder suspects - they're all just consistently well done.

Better when her partner called her a child molestor.
