So Duels are a fairly new band, from my hometown no less, but their album The Barbarians Move In For Free was an amazing, amazing, piece of work.

Furies, the albums first track, can be heard HERE and it's indicative of the brooding, pop rock the band seem to have mastered quite quickly. They're still a fledgling band and they seem to be finding their feet musically, but in terms of sheer passion and elegance they're remarkably sophisticated. I'll give it a shot. When you say poppy, do you mean with electronica kind of kick to it ala The Music?

About four months to late, but it's definitely not electronica. It's kind of folksy blues tinged pop songs, definitive beat but with dark, jangly guitars and gothy preening.
