There's nothing finer than Andy throwing himself ass-akimbo into something, like him diving into his old pit-home. He may be the best physical comedian on TV right now.

I think one of my favorite parts would be when April explains that "Andy, recently diagnosed himself with what he call shoeshine head. It's when you shine too many shoes and the fumes create a thunderstorm in your brain. Cures include coffee, cheeseburgers, and napping on the floor."
Cut together with the shots of Andy smacking himself in the head and then laying on the floor is gold.

I was watching last night and I doodled out a little Ron.
Thought I should post it here.

Mustache isn't nearly big enough; his upper lip shouldn't be visible

Otherwise, nice job.

Aubrey Plaza is doing some great subtle work with April. During that sequence she says alot without saying alot. Really endearing stuff.
Yeah, she plays it like she knows he's semi-retarded, but finds it pretty endearing.

To be fair, that's just meant to be the bottom lip... Where the soul patch would be if he had one.

I just read Paul Schneider is leaving (I love him as an actor but he's not one of my favorites on the show) and they are bringing in Adam Scott. Also, Rob Lowe may be a regular or just a recurring character. Apparently they have to start shooting immediately because Poehler is pregnant.

Again? Man, she's spent all of season one with the face the size of texas due to her previous pregnancy.

And yeah, Paul Schneider doesn't really fit with the show. His movie career was much more interesting.
I just hope we get "supreme dick" Adam Scott as opposed to the everyman Adam Scott seen in Party Down. We'll probably get the latter.

I guess Arnett just doesn't know how to pull out.

Damn, Samberg was annoying as hell. I really really hope they don't try to create a love triangle thing with Anne and Andy, the show has shown over and over again that she's way out of his league in every single way. If Mark is leaving, i don't want them to try to get Ann win Andy back.
I'm finding the prospect of a Battle For Andy disturbingly hilarious. And realistic.
"Yes Andy....if you escape you may counter-strike."

That whole sequence during Jerry's presentation culminating with the fart was perfect.
Probably just me, but my biggest laugh came from Andy mock punching the guy walking past and then optimistically asking "shoe shine?" while the guy didn't even blink. I wheezed out loud so hard at that it gave me a sore throat.
"What's the first thing you do in a fight?"
"Punch to the balls"
I laughed hardest at the flock of birds.
Leslie's impression of Tom absolutely killed me last episode. It was so dead on it was eerie!

"Dayam Jerry, you jumped in the creek for a burrito? What would ya do for a Klondike bar, kill your wife?"
I think Tom's impression of Mark is my favourite of the season. Mark is way harder to do than Tom.
I used to hate Andy, but he's definitely grown on me. He's such a lovable loser.

No more Andy Samberg, please!

You vacation in Muncie? The reveal that Jerry dislocated his arm falling into the river chasing a dropped burrito, and then eating it, was just too funny.
I feel like Andy Samberg was like "oh man what if my character had like something weird and funny about him... like... he talked really loud!"

... fucking idiot.

Pretty great ep regardless, though.
I did quite enjoy it when Mo Collins talk show host character, I forget her name, was hitting on him and asked him if he'd wanna go some place and he just quietly said "okay..".

I'd agree with you except that I feel like he's earned a couple of years of good will with Hot Rod and, to a lesser extent, "Incredibad".

As for this week, I'll simply add that I loved Tom having to run along side the raccoon-urine golf cart.
Oh, I love Incredibad, too... I just don't think he's talented aside from his digital short/music stuff.

For me, Parks and Rec has become the best (and most consistent - sorry Community) show on Thursday nights. I'm surprised the show has made the Andy/April work as well as it has. And a Michael Gross sighting! He must have declined Tremors 10 over showing up here. I also loved Swanson's running.

As much as I love Community, I totally agree with you. The improvement between seasons 1 and 2 of the show is mind blowing.

I also thought that the picture on the cover of the catalog was really sweet.

Ron Fucking Swanson running killed me.

"Why does anyone eat anything other than breakfast food?"

"People are idiots."

I'm developing a huge crush on Aubrey Plaza.
Community tops this for me, but yeah, this show has overtaken 30 Rock as must see TV. Tom failing at getting chicks, only to see Ron not do a damn thing but put on the hat was great. As was mentioned, Ron running for food was a highlight. "I only had one breakfast today." And the fact that Leslie made him bacon as a snack, which Swanson smelled and ate immediately, was a nice little touch. Total bittersweet ending with Andy realizing April is too young juxtaposed with the cover photo. And I guess they are trying to show signs that Ann is unhappy in her relationship since Schneider is leaving the show.
I kinda wish Ann would leave too, unless the writers suddenly have plans to make her interesting once Lowe and Adam Scott show up.

Who isn't?
I was glad to see them address April's age head on. Very bittersweet and very good. And, as always, Ron Swanson remains the man. I loved the juxtaposition between him stating that his first order of business as city manager would be to dissolve Parks and Recreation with Leslie stating she would double its budget. Their relationship is actually one of the best on tv, in my opinion. Hell, I'd love to see an ongoing plotline where they campaign against each other for the city manager position.

Which is actually something I think is pretty cool. How many sitcoms would bother actually developing something like that across multiple episodes?
"Looks like the only other date he has open is Marchtember oneteenth."
"it's called sleep fighting"
"That must be terrible."
"Only when I'm losing."

Ron. Fucking. Swanson.
*puppy licks face*
".... okay, take it outside and shoot it."
I lost it
"Oh, gross, it's Jerry's sex night. That ruins sex and tonight!"

Also loved Leslie's disgusted reaction to Jerry's beautiful piano playing.

Well done on the screenplay for this one, Amy Poehler.

Between Community and this show, 2009-2010 has just been an extended torch passing from NBC's Thursday 9 o'clock hour to its 8 o'clock hour.

Weird episode. I know they have to introduce Lowe and Scott's characters but I would have just brought them in at the beginning of next season. Kind of hated Anne's character tonight actually. And they've really made this April/Andy thing work, which is surprising.
Drunk Rashida Jones is adorable. I will not hear otherwise.

And, yay, Natalie Morales! Recurring character, I hope.

I love how excited Ron is about the budget cuts.
When Anne was trying to figure out who she made out with, did anyone else think it would turn out to be April?

Just me? Yeah, I'm cool with that.

I thought for sure it would be Tom.
I thought it was going to be a girl, since she had that blatant "I've asked every GUY" (or something
post #196 of 1407
Jean Ralphio is always welcome.

I loved the shots of Lowe in the background. One where he's doing his pullups, and the other where he's doing his "Point and slowly repeat someone's name" to Jerry while Leslie is doing her talking head bit.
Loved drunk Leslie and Anne. The Andy and April stuff is playing out nicely. Ron smiling with glee every time they talked about gutting the office was awesome. I hope Tom can finally find a special lady friend. Rob Lowe is still smokin' hot. Who is the actor who played the auditor? he looks so familiar.

Great episode, made even better by the extended version on HULU.

I thought the same thing.
Adam Scott from Party Down on Starz, and the asshole brother from Stepbrothers

Ron's smile at the end killed me.
