Couldn't get through it. I do wonder why nobody gave a heads up on the.....PR vulnerability..... of calling your movement "Tea Bagging". Of course who doesn't like a good old fashioned "Tea Bagging" party?

Thom Hartmann had an awesome idea about the teabaggin' parties. Since the right wing think tanks and corporations that are funding them can't articulate precisely why they want these protests (since it's not very populist to want even more favoritism to the very rich and huge corporations), the whole point of them is pretty fuzzy and, as one lobbyist said on the air today, "people are bringing what they're angry about to the table."

Thom's idea is to take over the teabaggin' parties with anti-corporate messages, like tax the rich, no more bailouts without corporate takeovers, anti-NAFTA, anti-privatization of social security, etc.

There's one of these going on at the Santa Monica Pier. I'm almost tempted to go scope it out, but I don't want the lone right-wing kook in the People's Republic of Santa Monica to look like he has anything resembling company.

Got an email that 2500 people have registered for the event in Cleveland. I gotta wonder how many of those people are going to protest the egregious wasteful spending of the past eight and a half years rather than the last four months like I will be.
