We'll see. Maybe Ghost Rider will be a smash and Neveldine/Taylor will have all the clout in the world?

Also, I'm sure they greenlit Crank 2 more on the success of the DVD/Blu-Ray than on the theatrical box office.

Pencil me in as a Crank 2 fan. I loved the hell out of it. The movie was gloriously insane. Crank 2 was one of the best movies to come out last year, IMO, along with gems like Black Dynamite, Zombieland, and District 9.

This, along with Bad Boys 2, represents EVERYTHING I hate about North American cinema/culture and, yet, I love both movies without even a hint of irony. Crank 2 is a masterpiece of exploiation cinema and the type of movie that would feel right at home in a 42 Street Grindhouse theatre circa 1975. Of course the PC police would hate it. FUCK those limp wristed pansies. Crank 2 reminds me of the glory days of 1980's action cinema which wasn't worried about offending soccer moms. It's also not afraid to be gloriously offensive as it shits on everyone in its path.

The problem I had with Grindhouse was that, besides QT not getting the point that we wanted fucking and killing - not boring conversations between bitches, Planet Terror felt like more like a parody then an actual exploitation flick. Then there was Rodriguez's deliberate continuity errors and digital print scratches that made everything play more like a spoof.

Crank 2 isn't a spoof, it's the real deal.

CRANK 2 is delightful. I don't think it made that much less at the boxoffice worldwide than CRANK.

Well, having just bought the Blu-ray, I have to say that the picture quality is stunning considering that it was shot on Prosumer camera's. Some of the wide angle, shaky cam stuff gets on my nerves and the color correction gives it that annoying music video/commercial look but when the shots are framed well, HOLY SHIT does it look good. If Hollywood really wants to bring their budgets down, they've got to take a note from Crank 2 that you don't need super fancy equipment. They shot a fucking crazy action flick for about 20 mill. That means they could have made Crank 2 six times for the cost of a piece of shit like How Do You Know which was budgeted at 120 million fucking dollars!?!?! Keeping the budget low ensures that there is less at risk and, thus, means that you can be more experimental and innovative which is exactly what Crank 2 is.
