Booker T. backed by Neil Young and the Drive-By Truckers. Album came out yesterday. Instructions:

1. Get album.

2. Have it playing on your car stereo all summer long.

3. Send me some kind of thank you present.


Also, if Booker T. and the DBT's are playing near you, go. Saw them do a show together a few weeks ago and it was a total blast.

I'll definitely be picking this up. One question, though - is it all instrumental? I hear they do a cover of "Hey Ya," and I can't imagine that working without vocals. I've got a crappy live recording of DBT doing that song by themselves from a few years ago, but I think Isbell sang lead on it.

All instrumental. "Hey Ya" sounds great, but almost like a completely different animal. It works, though. When I saw them play together, the only vocals were when Booker T. sang "Born Under a Bad Sign."
