Red2Blu - Uppgraayed your HDDVDs to Blu-ray!

Only for Warner Bros movies, obviously. I can't replace my Bourne Trilogy HDDVDs!? Gah!

Pretty cool that they're doing something like this for a cost that's not too unreasonable. I was hoping that they'd have the 2nd release of Zodiac, but damnit-all, they don't have it. I know for sure WB was involved with it, but maybe it being co-financed by Paramount has something to do with it not being included. I have no idea if this list is supposed to be updated with other discs.

Fucking A!

Edit: Ugh, I have to stop showing my room-mate EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET, he thinks its some sort of scam and is wondering what angle WB is playing. I'm pretty sure it's the 'get some more money angle' and 'patch broken hearts angle', but ugh...

I can probably find many of these dirt cheap at a local exchange shop.

I've got 3 of the Harry Potter movies on HD-DVD--I was debating on buying the BR versions just a few weeks ago.

I signed up to swap out 4 movies, I think this is a pretty sweet offer.

After getting down and (legally) dirty with Redbox, I can't really see Craig Kornblau and the rest of the dudes at Universal Home Video offering up such a program. They (like Sony) want you to fork over the maximum amount of cash.

I think it's a good gesture by WB to offer this and definitely one consumers don't forget. Brand loyalty means something, but I'm too low on the totem pole to say what.

Yeah, this is kind of a cool deal. I was going to bring it up, but I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who saw it.

I've still got my HD DVD player for my xbox 360 and still have my little HD DVD stash and I like that we just need to send in the cover sheets and can keep the discs.

It looks like I can send in for 300, Jesse James, Constantine, Planet Earth and probably the first Matrix flick (I have the trilogy set, not the ultimate set, so hopefully just the first is still an option, but if not, no big deal). And my Constantine disc was one of the ones I got free from a promotion so the UPC code may be mangled... I'll have to check when I get home.

It seems like it's kind of a waste if you can't do it with all of your HD-DVDs because if you have a few left you'll still want your player, and at that point who cares if the cases on your shelf are blue or brown.

That being said, I'm swapping out four.

Pretty much all I'll be swapping is the Matrix set when the time comes (After seeing The Animatrix in 1080p, no way in hell I can go back to standard). Still, this is a cool idea.

I guess now that I have to send back my PS3 (aka my BR player) to get it fixed, I'll do up the Harry Potter movies at the same time, and see which I get back first.

Did anyone else get there discs yet? I got mine and they didn't include The Matrix. So I called and they said it wasn't in there, but I clearly sent it. They didn't charge me though. So all I have to do now is send in my Matrix Revolutions sleeve and I will get the whole ultimate set.

I received my disks yesterday. I got back 300, KKBB, Blade Runner and The Matrix Collection. I sent in all Matrix sleeves since at the time their site said the back cardboard piece which I didn't have. I gambled that they would accept them all and it worked like a champ.

I are winner?

Sent it sleeves for 300, Departed, Batman Begins, V for Vendetta, and Ocean's 13...I get all back plus the entire Ocean's 11-13 set too? Not bad at all.

I've been in a 'get rid of crap' mood lately, and even though I can't sell it, and don't have the heart to through it out, I really want the HDDVD player out of my line of site. I've got a BR player and an all region DVD player taking up a bunch of room already. After this and my review copy of Children of Men the only HDDVDs I'll have left are Big Lebowski, Hot Fuzz, the Host and Shaun of the Dead. That's not too bad.
