Jaume Balaguero's forgotten project

Way back when LOS SIN NOMBRE (The Nameless) was making the festival rounds, a German movie magazine did a n interview with Balaguero and asked him about his next film. He gave the following synopsis: There are many unsolved child murders and the investigating detective finds out that if you connect the murder sites you get a perfect geometrical circle. When he ventures to the center of said crcle he finds an age-old house that is inhabited (among others) by an impossibly old woman who spits poison and can crawl up and down the walls like a spider. He said the film will be loosely based on Lovecraft's DREAMS IN THE WITCHHOUSE and from the summary you can see that it is indeed "loosely" based. The only connection I can see is that both stories combine geometry and horror. But it still sounds like one hell of a freaky film! And anyone who has seen DARKNESS, Balaguero's follow-up to LOS SIN NOMBRE can asure you that it is NOT the film he described in that interview. And from what I've heard about his forthcoming flick THE FRAGILE, that will be something different as well. It is such a shame, I want to see that film goddammit!!!

that sounds like a fucking cool film.

on another note, is darkness any good? ive heard some bad reviews. but i chalk that up to people thinking the film would be a little more lovecraft and a lot more like los sin nombre.
